Located in Andalucía, south of Spain lies the beautiful city of Málaga. Also known as “the capital of the Costa del Sol”, an estimate of six million tourists visit the city every year to enjoy the climate, the sea and its beaches. This city has two thousand-eight hundred years of history and considered as one of the oldest cities in Europe.

Málaga experienced the greatest civilizations of the Mediterranean, from the Phoenicians and the Greeks to the Romans, due to its strategic location of the port, a significant area along the trade routes since the ancient times.

Its history dates back to the Phoenician times, and later passed onto the Romans and Arabs who left part pf their culture and constructions. The capital of the Costal del Sol, Málaga was in the end conquered by the Catholic Kings in the year 1487, leaving an incomplete cathedral due to the lack of funds back then, known as “La Manquita.” The are also a numerous monuments to visit, including the Alcazaba Arabic Castle and the Gibralfaro castle.

Pablo Picasso was also born in the city of Málaga, the Plaza where he used to play as a child still exists today, as well as his house which is now a museum that is accessible today for everyone.

Calle Larios offers a mixture of well-known chain stores and boutiques for shopping, and cafes and ice cream parlors as well. Through its streets you can find more shops and restaurants and bars.

Representing the good sense of the city’s character, the Atarazanas Market is a great place to know Málaga’s cheerful and quirky nature. The Mercado Central is a paradise for foodies and most of Málaga’s restaurant scene purchase fresh fish, meats, shellfish, fruits, vegetables, spices and so much more!

Torremolinos has long enjoyed a reputation as one of the liveliest resort towns on the Costa del Sol. Known for its glamourous nightlife and care-free attitude this town offers more diverse options to enjoy the evening than any other Costa del Sol resort.

Amongst the options to enjoy the nightlife in Torremolinos, one can go out for a meal or some tapas and then to a few pubs, discos and beach clubs along the Costa del Sol. Many years ago the lively area was Pueblo Blanco, located right in the center of Torremolinos, but now it has moved down to the seafront and in the center where all the pubs and discos aimed to the gay community are located, such as the Nogalera area.

When it comes to British pubs, one can visit the Plaza de la Independencia, and the Spanish pubs are located at the Plaza de Costa del Sol.

There are plenty of gay pubs and discos in Torremolinos, but not only for the gay community, but also today more and more people choose to go to these discos as the atmosphere is more relaxed.

La Carihuela is old fishing village in a beautiful area full of picturesque views where simple houses and bougainvillea clad patios can be found. It is definitely a favorite among tourists and offers a pleasant sea views and relaxing ambience.

Popular of all the beaches in Torremolinos, the sandy shores of La Carihuela neighborhood quickly fill through the height of summer due to the proximity to the major resorts in the region. Chiringuitos, restaurants and bars with wide range of gastronomic offerings are plentiful along the promenade, shops and play areas for children are present too.

Clear and shallow waters are ideal for swimming here at La Carihuela. Just like most of the beaches along this expanse of coastline, its dark sand is great for various beach sports activities including volleyball and water sports activities.

La Carihuela’s characteristics and services makes it one of the most desirable places to relax and enjoy. It is indeed an authentic paradise for all the senses.

Benalmadena is divided into three main areas: Benalmadena Pueblo – with its traditional Andalusian white town charm; Arroyo de la Miel – the commercial and leisure center; and Benalmadena Costa – known for its beaches, promenade and vibrant Puerto Marina.

The attractions of Arroyo de la Miel are the Tivoli Amusement Park and a cable car (Teleferico) to the peak of the 769 meters high Calamorro Mountain, which offers panoramic views over the whole Mediterranean coast and Gibraltar and on clear days sights as far as Sierra Nevada and the African coast.
