Los Boliches is a town that is a part of the municipality of Fuengirola. An old fishing village Santa Fé de los Boliches, most known as ‘Los Boliches,’ is found at the seafront area to the eastern side of Fuengirola centre.
With a history going back to Phoenician and Roman times, Los Boliches has been and still is a fishing village that holds strongly with its traditions. The site of archaeological remains of a salting factory is a reminder of Los Boliches’ rich historic past. The Museo de Historia, found near Bioparc Fuengirola tells the rich history of Los Boliches town and its neighborhood.
This place boasts some of the finest beaches in Fiengirola. Both spacious and easliy accessible to all. It is home to well-integrated year round residents, both Spanish and foreign alike.
The Parish Church of Carmen y Santa Fé, located at the Avenida de los Boliches, is the center of the neighborhood and it is from there that the Virgin is carried during the Fiesta Virgen del Carmen, held each year on the 16th of July.
The most impressive and lasting heritage in Los Boliches is the local tradition of the fishing folks who have lived there through the generations. Until today, fishermen catch bountiful fresh fish and is served at local beach bars and chiringuitos. Between the main street and the beach there are plenty little narrow streets filled with the vibrant Andalucian atmosphere and with variety of local seafood and fresh fish dished to choose from.
The Monument to the Peseta, located on the Paseo Marítimo de Fuengirola was created by local artist and sculptor José Gómez Guerreo in 2007. It was the first monuted created dedicated to the old currency that disappeared in 2002 due to the introduction of the Euro.

Where to stay at Playa Costa del Sol El Salvador-
We stayed at an awesome Airbnb at Costa del Sol called Casa Herradura. The apartment has 3 large bedrooms, 6 extremely comfy beds, and 2 spa like bathrooms. There are Air Conditioning units in every room, wifi, beachfront access, and home to the longest pool in all of El Salvador. Everything about this apartment screams comfort and luxury.
What not to miss at Playa Costa del Sol El Salvador –
Ocean Tours is an AMAZING Boat Tour in Costa Del Sol El Salvador. They will take you through the Estuary, Rio Lempa, and La Bocana del Rio Lempa. You can even get out on what feels like your own private island/sandbar to fully marvel at the magic that is a river estuary and Pacific ocean meeting.
Soaking in the Salvadoran Sun and bathing in the warm Pacific beach waters of Costa del Sol is always a good idea. The waves are calm and the sand is a soft mixture of black volcanic ash and crushed white seashells. It’s truly something unique and special.
What to eat at Costa del Sol El Salvador-
Red Lobster is a “floating” restaurant securely anchored in the Costa del Sol Estuary. Enjoy a large plate of super fresh and delicious seafood (I recommend the fried fish or ceviche) and cool off with a cold local Salvadoran cerveza (Pilsener, Suprema, or Golden). Soak in the views and the atmosphere of this surreal Coastal Paradise.
