Torremolinos is a municipality in Andalusia, southern Spain, west of Málaga. A poor fishing village before the growth in tourism began in the late 1950s, Torremolinos was the first of the Costa del Sol resorts to be developed and is still the most popular in the region.
The eastern end of the beach, known as Los Álamos, has live dance music events throughout the summer. The easternmost parts of the beach have kitesurfing and windsurfing except under the flight path of the airport.

Kiosks, rental services of sunbeds and water equiment such as pedal boats are available for every holidaymakers.
Located between the beaches of La Carihuela and Playamar is El Bajondillo. It is an impressive expanse of beach 40 meters wide and 1 kilometer long, right in the center of the town and one of the most visited. Definitely an urban beach, it is highly rated by residents and tourists due to its variety of services. Any time of the year tourists can enjoy the sea breeze. The beach restaurants provide different types of local fish cuisines freshly caught within the day!

Today will take a walk on beautiful beach El Bajondillo (Torremolinos, Spain). A stretch of darkish sand in the heart of Torremolinos. El Bajondillo, a magnificent expanse of beach 40 metres wide and one kilometre long, is located practically in the centre of town and is therefore one of the most visited. Classed as an urban beach, it is highly rated by residents and tourists thanks to its variety of services.
The Bajondillo beach is located a few meters from the center of Torremolinos, bordering to the east with the beach of Playamar and to the west with the Punta de Torremolinos.
It has an extensive promenade that surrounds the beach with a large number of bars, restaurants and shops.
As in other beaches of Torremolinos, Bajondillo beach does not lack the leisure and entertainment offer. Beach bars, rental of pedal boats, jet skis and kayaks, volleyball court, playgrounds and swings are just a few examples of services and facilities that can be found on one of the most popular beaches in Torremolinos.

Torremolinos has long enjoyed a reputation as one of the liveliest resort towns on the Costa del Sol. Torremolinos has always been popular for its glamourous nightlife and bohemian care-free attitude and this reputation was gained during the 1960s and ’70s. Torremolinos’ interesting history tells of the rich and famous, the beatniks and bohemians, and mass tourism enjoying the town’s nightlife.
Torremolinos is an international tourist reference. This town on the Costa del Sol combines the charm of an Andalusian sailor village with the cosmopolitan character of a modern coastal city. The beaches of Torremolinos are spread over seven kilometers guided by a beautiful promenade. Hotels, restaurants, bars, pubs, nightclubs and the best beaches to enjoy a unique experience in this privileged place.
The nightlife of Torremolinos offers a variety of options. As a place of coast is full of young people, so it has become one of the most important holiday areas. You will have the option of going out at night-time quietly thanks to the innumerable bars and chiringuitos (also perfect to enjoy a quality dining experience), or to choose an area of nightclubs, discos and pubs to make your night more intense and full of dance and color. Every day there are options of celebration and great atmosphere.
You can find people of all countries and all ages gather to dance and have a drink. As for the price of the drinks – between five and seven euros.

The largest beach along the Torremolinos coast, Playa de la Carihuela is a fantastic summer playground for families. Its sheltered and shallow waters are great for swimming, while the dark sand that’s unique to the region is good for beach sports including volleyball. Day beds and umbrellas are available for hire throughout the summer to make the most of your day.
If you fancy making use of the variety of watersports activities, diving and sailing lessons, as well as boat and catamaran hires are available at Puerto Marina, on the western end of the beach. Shops, restaurants and bars are plentiful along the promenade. Playa de la Carihuela also has several play areas for children.

Located to the southwest of Torremolinos municipal area, the thriving area of La Carihuela has become a cosmopolitan home for gastronomy and leisure in recent years. A remarkable dish is the pescaíto (small fried fish), which you can enjoy at many restaurants in the La Carihuela area of Torremolinos.
Set just a few streets back from the beachfront promenade, you’ll find yourself lost among the charm of the quiet grid-like streets characterised by low-rise houses dressed in bright bougainvillaea. Peppered throughout the various nooks of La Carihuela are a few sparse remnants of the fishing village, a throwback to the area’s seafaring past.

With beautiful and scenic coastline protected by the imposing Sierra de Mijas Mountains, Torremolinos features year-round warm weather and pleasant micro-climate, all of which makes Torremolinos a major holiday destination.
Located in the center of sunny Costa del Sol, close to the bay of Málaga, the weather and climate in Torremolinos is extremely favorable. During the autumn season, evenings are reasonably mild, but jackets and jumpers may be necessary on chilly nights. There is a greater chance of rainy weather and showers during this month but these are usually quick to clear.
Even in this time you can still enjoy the chill nigthlife which is very prominent in the area. People are very accepting and the atmosphere is very inviting. As the holiday season arrives, more and more people who love to spend their winters here in Torremolinos will be coming back again.

Torremolinos was the first of the Costa del Sol resorts to be developed and is still the most popular in the region. The beach which extends for nearly 8km (5.0 miles), includes cycle and skating lanes alongside the fully illuminated promenade and features many beach bars and local chiringuitos. The eastern part of the beach, known as Los Álamos, offers live dance music events throughout the summer. They also have windsurfing and kitesurfing among many water sports activities to offer.
Playa Los Álamos is backed by the Golf Course that belongs to the Parador Málaga Golf Hotel and is right under the airport flight path. Located there is the nudist beach, and frequented by mixed bathers.
Kitesurfing is restricted to the easternmost area of the beach and occurs in the low season as in high season all the beaches are very crowded with sunbathers. Yellow buoys are present, marking the limits to which powered craft may come near the beach and the airport located nearby.
At the seaside, there are the usual rentals available of bicycles, mopeds, electric scooters, jets skis, surf boards, parasailing, sailing, paddle, ski boats and snorkelling.
