Torremolinos is a municipality in the province of Malaga that in recent years has become one of the preferred locations on the Costa del Sol. One of the characteristics of the Málaga Fair is that it has two celebration zones: the Day Fair, in the city center of Málaga from 12:00h to 18:00h, and the Night Fair, held in the Cortijo de Torres (Málaga Congress Center), in which this fairground has activities all day.
The city center of Málaga is all out for this grand festival that started from Saturday, 17th of August, with the streets of the historic center decorated with lanterns and floral decorations, starting with Calle Larios and its grand doorway.
There are people dressed in flamenco dresses, and the singing and entertaining of the verdiales on the streets, and stall selling hats, glasses, scarves and all the essentials to experience the authentic mood of the fair in the city center. It all comes together at the Plaza de la Constitución where the atmosphere is hyped and inviting – there you can find kiosks that serve food and drinks with a special stage for musical performances of different artists.
Facts about Feria de Málaga:
Men dress in “campero” outfits and the women dress in “trajes de gitana” (gypsy outfits). There are specialty shops were you can find these “trajes” and some can be really expensive depending on the material and design but there are affordable options too.
The most popular dances at the fair are flamenco, malagueñas, verdiales and sevillanas.
The biznaga is the symbol of the city of Málaga. It is a white flower made with jasmine and a thistle called nerdo, during the Feria de Málaga it is one of the times of the year with the highest sales of this flower.
Cartojal is a sweet white wine D.O, which is consumed during the Málaga fair, it is made from Muscatel grapes and is drunk very cold. It is very characteristic of the fair and can be bought at any establishment, the 750ml bottle costs approximately 5 to 7 euros.
A rebujito is a typical drink of the Fair made of chamomile with Sprite or 7up and mint, it is drunk very very cold.
A caseta (found in Night fair) is an enclosure built with light materials where music is played to encourage people and drinks are also served. They usually have an area to dance, the tablao. Some booths are public and in others you have to be a member to enter, during the day horse carriages and women dressed in flamenco parade through the streets where the booths are located.

Benalmádena is one of the main tourist destinations on the Costa del Sol, famous for its leisure establishments, which include various amusement park, two aquariums, casino, a cable car, and one of the largest marinas in Andalucía.
Populated since the prehistoric times, Benalmádena underwent a remarkable development during the time of Muslim domination, a development that would later be paralyzed after its incorporation into the Crown of Castile in the year 1485, because of various natural disasters and the intense activity of the corsairs in the area. The cultivation of the vineyard and the paper industry would later reactivate the economy of Benalmádena during the 18th and 19th centuries, but the greatest demographic boom in its history would be caused by the growth of tourism from the second half of the 20th century.
The municipality’s population boom began in the 50s with the development of mass tourism on the Spanish coast. During the time many established hotel, restaurants and businesses were opened, among these were Hotel Triton (1961), Tivoli World amusement park (1973), Torrequebrada casino and hotel (1979), Selwo Aquarium, Sea Life Aquarium, Cable car, Hotel Alay, and Chollocasa real estate agency. In the early 21st century, many more businesses were constructed. Parque de la Paloma is a more recent addition to the attractions, a landscape park with a large lake where visitors can interact with animals.
The coastal area of Benalmádena is known by the name “Benalmádena Costa” and concentrates of the bulk of hotel establishments. The Benalmádena Marina is found here, as well as the promenade the crosses the municipality from the limits with the neighboring municipalities.
Benalmádena Marina, most known as Puerto Marina is characterized by its particular architecture that has been recognized globally, especially among European tourists. It houses different establishments such as hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, shops, Maritime Captaincy, the Benalmádena Maritime Yacht Club, a luxury residential area, and the Sea Life Benalmádena aquarium.

An attractive promenade lined with shops, restaurants and bars stretches out alongside Málaga’s port, forming the Muelle Uno mall, just a short walk from the city’s historical centre. On the second Sunday of each month, local artisans and merchants share stalls at the El Zoco de Muelle Uno, a local market selling gourmet food, handmade products and vintage clothing. Enjoy the best of open-air shopping as you idly watch cruise liners come and go.
Adjacent to the promenade lies an 18th-century Baroque church, Chapel of Muelle Uno, constructed from sandstone from a nearby quarry. As you continue along the marina, Muelle Uno extends to La Farola, the 38-metre-high 19th-century lighthouse of Málaga.

Benalmádena is a municipality in the province of Málaga consisting of three main areas: Benalmádena Pueblo, Benalmádena Costa and Arroyo de la Miel. The city of Málaga (and the nearest airport) is about 12 km to the west, and Marbella is 42 km to the east. The area has grown rapidly in recent decades due to tourism and has become one of the Costa del Sol’s prime holiday spots.
With a wide and varied array of activities, no visitor will be bored when visiting Benalmádena, a town which is more than just a resort.
Benalmádena Costa is home to the majority of the area’s attractions, most importantly the golden sandy beaches. There are many restaurants and bars that serve food from all over the world. The relaxed, friendly atmosphere all year round makes it a beloved destination for families.
A promenade connects Benalmádena Costa to Puerto Marina (Marine Port), which offers excellent shopping and dining. The marina is also home to The Sea Life Centre, where you will find all manners of marine wildlife. It has a petting tank where you can pet the rays. Take a stroll around the port and look at the floating hotels and millionaire’s yachts. When the sun goes down Puerto Marina becomes one of the coast’s best party destinations.

A poor fishing village before the growth in tourism began in the late 1950s, Torremolinos was the first of the Costa del Sol resorts to be developed and is still the most popular in the region.
Torremolinos is a municipality in Andalusia, southern Spain, west of Málaga.
Areas of the town are dotted with older high-rise residential buildings and hotels, but height limitations on new developments and a significant number of original old town properties have kept the town centre much more open than other popular resorts such as Benidorm and Fuengirola.
There are six main beaches in Torremolinos (west to east): Montemar, La Carihuela, Bajondillo, Playamar, Los Alamos, El Saltillo. The 7 km long promenade has undergone improvements with additional landscaping and wider pavements. All the beaches are linked by the promenade which forms part of the Malaga Coastal path.
La Carihuela is an old fishing district, located in the western area, southwest of Torremolinos. La Carihuela promenade is a wonderful place for a walk along the Mediterranean Sea.
