It’s mid-August 2025 — peak holiday season — and I travel along Spain’s famous Costa del Sol to check out how busy (or not!) the region really is. I visit popular spots including Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, and the Port of Duquesa.
But something feels… off. Where are the British tourists?
Join me on this summer vlog as I explore the beaches, streets, and marinas of southern Spain and take a closer look at what’s changed in one of Europe’s most beloved holiday destinations.
📍 Locations Visited:
Torremolinos
Benalmádena

Spanish getting what THEY asked for , reap what YOU sow.
Where are the Brits ? I’ll tell you surviving on food banks in the uk skint and homeless.
They don't want us so we wont come
Good. brexshitters should stay at home & soaked in the full radiant glow of sovereignty. That way pasty remains pasty in stead of looking like a cooked lobster! Besides poor people can't afford to travel.
We are too busy raising the flag in the uk 🇬🇧
Post Brexit inflation makes Spain expensive
The British tourists are at home enjoying the unusual warm weather.
Spanish no longer want British tourists or their money, just like USA people do not want to go where they are not welcome anymore. Fortunately there are other places to visit….if you can afford to these days.
Enjoy this little excursion around the Torremolinos/Benalmadena area, brought back many lovely memories. My late wife and I with our 2 young children holidayed at the Timor Sol/Aloha Puerto Sol and surrounding apartments in an area call Montemar, which is just beyond the Benalmadena marina going towards Torremolinos. The beaches were safe for the kids, we had our favourite bars and restaurants and made many friends, Spanish, Scottish Dutch German Canadian, there between 1985-1996. We would go for 2 weeks in April and 2 weeks in September-October and the weather generally was perfect. When I lost my wife back in 2001, my daughter who was 22 by then and I went for a 10 day visit with friends to catch up with a few people we knew. Unfortunately I have not been back since, I kept on meaning too but never did. At 79 next month, bit late now I think and I am sure all the people we knew are not around anymore. Still this was a nice little reminder of days gone by! Thank you.
Maybe some Brits are realising that the majority of Spaniards don't want you there.
The main reason… MONEY.
Some have second homes or they are living there.
Cyprus. We went there. Half the price, more welcome.
Philippines this year, probably will also try Japan later. Went to Hong Kong twice last year.
The worlds a small place with modern flights and choices
Beautiful Filey beach in Yorkshire mate! Very busy, very safe and a huge sandy beach for the kids. Clean toilets, reasonably priced food. Loved it. Excellent mini golf too. 😄
We stayed in Benalmadena at the end of July / start of August. Lots of different nationalities there. The hotel Palmasol was really nice, again with lots of different nationalities. It was a lovely in the evening with crowds just enjoying an evening stroll along the prom. If you don't mind heights, then a trip on the cable car is a must. Fabulous views from the top. Did you go to Mijas? A lovely little town with quaint streets and again, wonderful views. Our Jet 2 flight was full going out too.
It's too expensive for people this year in their own countries with everyday prices and the prices of holidays have gone thru the roof plus UK and Ireland have had absolutely fantastic weather so people probably cancelled
Too expensive only Scandinavian people and rich Belgium people can afford it 😮😮😮
Spain isn't cheap anymore fact😮😮
Doing our bit to help the Spanish people, they don’t want tourists so we stayed at home, just wish they would ban Spaniards from Bath then I might get a seat on the train after a day at work!
