Fuengirola Spain Beautiful Town Christmas Season December 2023 Update Costa del Sol | Málaga [4K]

Fuengirola has become one of the favorite destinations for tourists who come to the province of Málaga thanks to the significant development of its infrastructures. This municipality, which belongs to the Costa del Sol Occidental, is located in the center of the Costa del Sol coastline and its easy access from anywhere facilitates the arrival of many tourists throughout the year.

If you are looking for a vacation on the beach without the hustle and bustle of the big cities, but with all its services, we recommend that you check everything that Fuengirola can offer you.

Fuengirola’s promenade stretches for 8 kilometers, which makes it one of the longest in Spain. The walk runs through the beaches of the municipality along with great bars, restaurants, terraces, hotels and shops.

The Castle of Sohail is one of the main tourist attractions of Fuengirola. Its views of the Mediterranean and the nearby Sierra de Mijas are fantastic. Abderramán III had the castle built in 956. Today, the site serves as the setting for numerous concerts and cultural events.

The Fuengirola Bullring, inaugurated in 1962, hosts every season all kinds of bullfighting and equestrian festivities, among which the national horse-drawn carriage and carriage competition stands out.

The archaeological site of the Finca del Secretario is also worth visiting. The discovery of this Roman enclave took place in the 70s. In it, remains from between the 1st and 5th centuries AD were found, including an alfar, some thermal baths and a salting factory. The site has an interpretation center where the rooms of the hot springs that have been recreated stand out.

Torremolinos is one of the economic engines of the province thanks, among others, to its tourism industry and the activity generated by the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones. Furthermore, it is a city that perfectly mixes the local population with its tourists, since every year there are many who settle permanently for their comfort and for a lifestyle linked to the sea. If you decide to escape to this municipality just a jump from Malaga (10 kilometers), you may be the next to decide to stay.

The Plaza de la Costa del Sol and Calle San Miguel are a must to start getting to know Torremolinos. The first, located in the center of the municipality, has become after its pedestrianization a cultural reference with numerous exhibitions in the middle of the street. The second is an immense showcase where you can find all the gifts with which the tourist wants to return from Torremolinos.

The tour of the historical heritage of this municipality can begin with the Pimentel tower or Torre de los Molinos, which gives it its name. It was built by the Nasrid around the year 1300 within the defensive towers of the old kingdom of Granada and, at present, is registered as a Site of Cultural Interest.

The Casa de los Navajas is another of the monuments that give Torremolinos uniqueness. It is a residential palace whose interior is inspired by the Alhambra in Granada and which, after its remodeling and reopening in 2014, has become one of the enclaves best valued by tourists and has been declared of Historical Interest. Located next to the sea, tourists will also be able to contemplate the Monument to the Beaches.

The visit to this municipality can continue with the sculpture of the Rapture of Europe, the statue of Picasso or the Monument to the Tourist. As well as the churches of San Miguel and of the Virgen del Carmen, the Hotel Pez Espada and the old College of Orphans of Railways, headquarters of the Pablo Ruiz Picasso cultural center.

Benalmadena Spain Holiday Season Update December 2021 Costa del Sol | Málaga [4K 60fs]

Leisure does not sleep in Benalmádena, a municipality located 20 kilometers from the center of Málaga and which has all the attractions to spend an unforgettable vacation. The offer of tourist attractions is one of the most complete on the Costa del Sol, and they are very well distributed among its three urban centers.

Benalmádena Pueblo represents calm through a picturesque urban landscape of narrow streets and squares, while Benalmádena Costa brings together a good part of the holiday offer and a wide coastline divided into 15 beaches. Arroyo de la Miel, with strong growth in recent years, is the place where a large number of leisure attractions are concentrated that complete the appeal of this destination.

To explore its historic center, it is recommended to start with the church of Santo Domingo, next to which there is a viewpoint that offers an extraordinary panoramic view of the coast. Close to this monument are the Jardines del Muro, designed by César Manrique. Two more stages can be added to this walk: the sculpture of La Niña and La Fonda, whose building currently occupies a hospitality school.

Culture manifests itself in very different ways in Benalmádena. The Felipe Orlando Pre-Columbian Art Museum is a must for lovers of this genre, as it houses one of the best collections in Spain.

The most original visits, due to the origin or structure of these buildings, are the Buddhist Stupa of Enlightenment, the Colomares Castle and the Bil Bil Castle, an Arab-style construction that stands out in the coastal landscape thanks to its color red decorated with tiles. In Benalmádena, in addition, tourists can visit the three watchtowers that are preserved in the municipality: Torre Bermeja, Torremuelle and Torrequebrada.

Marbella is culture, leisure and glamour, it is one of the most exclusive cities in the Mediterranean and the pride of the Costa del Sol. Twenty-five kilometers of coastline, four marinas, sixteen golf courses and a privileged climate, make it an incomparable destination .

Visiting Marbella is living a unique experience. From shopping in its luxurious boutiques to dining in its distinguished restaurants or having fun in its beach clubs, the possibilities are endless. Although if the priority is to relax, the city has around twenty thalassotherapy centers and spas, along with a first class hotel offer in its three main centers: Marbella, San Pedro de Alcántara and Nueva Andalucía-Puerto Banús.

The Plaza de los Naranjos, designed after the Christian conquest of Marbella, overlook the hermitage of Santiago, the Town Hall and the Casa del Corregidor, built between the 15th and 16th centuries. They are located in the historic center of the town, with its white houses and balconies full of flowers.

Near the square are the chapel of San Juan de Dios and the hermitage of Santo Cristo de la Vera Cruz, from the 16th century, as well as the church of La Encarnación, from the 17th century. The latter consists of three naves and its main door, carved in ocher stone in the Rococo style, is a true marvel.

On Avenida del Mar you can admire a collection of bronze sculptures by Salvador Dalí. This artery connects the Marbella promenade with the Paseo de La Alameda, designed in the 19th century.

Marbella has interesting archaeological sites, such as the Paleo-Christian Basilica of Vega del Mar, in San Pedro de Alcántara. The remains of the Roman town of Río Verde or those of a spa near Guadalmina also have some historical interest.

Founded by the Phoenicians in the 8th century B.C. Málaga is one of the oldest cities in Europe. It was a first federated municipality, and then under the Latin law of the Roman Empire and a prosperous Andalusian medina four times the capital of its own kingdom, which was incorporated into the Crown of Castile in the year 1487.

During the 19th century, Málaga experienced an incredible industrial and revolutionary activity that made it ranked as the fisrt industrial city in Spain and made her worthy of the titles “Siempre denodada” (Always bold) and “La primera en el peligro de la libertad” (The first in danger of freedom). Formerly the scene of one of the bloodiest episodes of the Spanish Civil War and protagonist of the explosion of the tourist boom of the 1960s and 1970s, it is currently an outstanding entertainment, economic, cultural and communications hub on the Mediterranean coast.

Málaga has been declared a Historic Site due to the set of historical elements found in the same city: Phoenicians, Punics, Romans and Arabs are concentrated in the historic center of the city – Roman Theater, the Alcazaba, the Cathedral, among many other cutural elements found both outdoors and underground.

The city is an important tourist destination, dubbed as “the capital of the Costa del Sol.” An estimate of 6 million tourists visit the city each year. Tourists usually visit the birthplace of Pablo Picasso and the Museo Picasso Málaga, the Carmen Thyssen Museum, the old town and the beaches to name a few. The harbour of Málaga is also the second busiest cruise port of the Iberian Peninsula.
