Torremolinos is one of the economic engines of the province thanks, among others, to its tourism industry and the activity generated by the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones. Furthermore, it is a city that perfectly mixes the local population with its tourists, since every year there are many who settle permanently for their comfort and for a lifestyle linked to the sea. If you decide to escape to this municipality just a jump from Malaga (10 kilometers), you may be the next to decide to stay.

The Plaza de la Costa del Sol and Calle San Miguel are a must to start getting to know Torremolinos. The first, located in the center of the municipality, has become after its pedestrianization a cultural reference with numerous exhibitions in the middle of the street. The second is an immense showcase where you can find all the gifts with which the tourist wants to return from Torremolinos.

The tour of the historical heritage of this municipality can begin with the Pimentel tower or Torre de los Molinos, which gives it its name. It was built by the Nasrid around the year 1300 within the defensive towers of the old kingdom of Granada and, at present, is registered as a Site of Cultural Interest.

The Casa de los Navajas is another of the monuments that give Torremolinos uniqueness. It is a residential palace whose interior is inspired by the Alhambra in Granada and which, after its remodeling and reopening in 2014, has become one of the enclaves best valued by tourists and has been declared of Historical Interest. Located next to the sea, tourists will also be able to contemplate the Monument to the Beaches.

The visit to this municipality can continue with the sculpture of the Rapture of Europe, the statue of Picasso or the Monument to the Tourist. As well as the churches of San Miguel and of the Virgen del Carmen, the Hotel Pez Espada and the old College of Orphans of Railways, headquarters of the Pablo Ruiz Picasso cultural center.
