Benalmadena is one of the most interesting areas on Costa del Sol. It has plenty of green areas, space, tourist attractions and the most beautiful sports harbour on the coast. It is divided into three urban areas: Benalmádena Pueblo, Arroyo de la Miel, Benalmádena Costa. The most worth visiting of these is Benalmádena Costa with its long stretch of sunny beaches, a lively nightlife and excellent cuisine.

Los Boliches is a town that is a part of the municipality of Fuengirola. An old fishing village Santa Fé de los Boliches, most known as ‘Los Boliches,’ it is located at the seafront area to the eastern side of Fuengirola center.

With a history going back to Phoenician and Roman times, Los Boliches has been and still is a fishing village and hold strongly with its traditions. The site of archaeological remains of a salting factory is a reminder of Los Boliches’ rich historic past. The Museo de Historia, found near Bioparc Fuengirola tells the rich history of Los Boliches town and its neighborhood.

This place boasts some of the finest beaches in Fuengirola. Both spacious and easliy accessible to all. It is home to well-integrated year round residents, both Spanish and foreign alike.

The Parish Church of Carmen y Santa Fé, located at the Avenida de los Boliches, is the center of the neighborhood and it is from there that the Virgin is carried during the Fiesta Virgen del Carmen, held each year on the 16th of July.

The most impressive and lasting heritage in Los Boliches is the local tradition of the fishing folks who have lived there through the generations. Until today, fishermen catch bountiful fresh fish and is served at local beach bars and chiringuitos. Between the main street and the beach there are plenty little narrow streets filled with the vibrant Andalucian atmosphere and with variety of local seafood and fresh fish dished to choose from.

The Monument to the Peseta, located on the Paseo Marítimo de Fuengirola was created by local artist and sculptor José Gómez Guerreo in 2007. It was the first monuted created dedicated to the old currency that disappeared in 2002 due to the introduction of the Euro.

La Carihuela Torremolinos Spain Beautiful Day Summer 2022 June Update Costa del Sol | Málaga [4K]

La Carihuela in Torremolinos is an old seafaring neighbourhood to the west, specifically in the south-west of the town. A good place to start a walk along the seaside can be reached by heading to Plaza del Remo. If you walk west, you’ll arrive at Puerto Marina in Benalmádena. If you choose the eastern route, you’ll enjoy numerous shops and restaurants in La Carihuela, admire la Punta or el Morro de Torremolinos, the natural monument which splits the Paseo Marítimo in two, and enjoy the other beaches until arriving at the end of Los Álamos. A pleasant and relaxing experience next to the sea.

The inhabitants of La Carihuela originally lived off the fruits of the sea: the tasty fish and shellfish offered by the Mediterranean at this extreme of Málaga Bay. However, the growth in tourism from the 1950s onwards opened new possibilities, chiefly with restaurants and chiringuitos (beach restaurants) where locals and tourists could enjoy the fishing catch.

Today the area has been modernized but it retains a large part of its original essence, with traditional shops and narrow lanes evocative of the traditional street layout so typical of Andalucía. A stroll that can be garnish with some of the best gastronomy in town, the high point being the quality of the fried fish.

If you wish to enjoy the style known as ‘relax architecture’ there are signature buildings such as the Hotel Miami, Tropicana and Pez Espada hotels, and the emblematic Aladino bazaar, a boat-shaped construction. Don’t forget to enjoy its beach, La Carihuela, which is known around the world and has a family atmosphere.

Torremolinos, an old fishing village located just 13 kilometres from Málaga is, today, a fantastic holiday destination if you’re looking for nice beaches, an excellent climate, good food and buzzing nightlife. This town has more than 68,000 inhabitants, 15,000 of which are foreigners who’ve been seduced by its charms.

In the fifties, a key decade for Torremolinos, it became one of the most popular destinations on the Costa del Sol. It enticed numerous foreigners, who were attracted by the town’s liberal character. Intellectuals of the time, artists and lots of members of the jet set enjoyed the sun during the day, and the animated evenings. This was the time of the famous cultural movement “movida malagueña.” Today, its nightlife is still legendary, thanks to the variety of beach bars and clubs where you can keep partying until dawn, most especially during the summer.

The Calle de San Miguel is the beating heart of the city where everything happens. It is a pedestrianised street lined with shops, which—at its end—gives out onto the promenade and the Playa de Bajondillo. Taking a stroll along San Miguel, you’ll come across the Molino de la Torre, a tower built in the fourteenth century, from which the guards of the Kingdom of Granada were defending the city, keeping guard from the excellent vantage point at the top of a cliff, protecting the city against the possible enemies who could attack from the sea. Today, it’s known as the Torre de Pimentel.

Lots of people say that Torremolinos has some of the best beaches in Málaga, thanks to both their length and their sand. One of the best known is the Playa del Bajondillo, located in the neighbourhood which it takes its name from, between Playamar and Playa de la Carihuela. 40 metres wide and more than a kilometre long, this beach is one of the most frequently visited thanks to how close it is to the city centre, and how easy it is to access. What’s more, it offers water sports, and you can enjoy a wonderfully relaxed beach day here.

Malagueta & Port is set 0.8 km from Museo Picasso Malaga and 0.8 km from Malaga Wine Museum in Malaga Centro district.
La Malagueta is a central seafront district opening onto a beach of the same name, known for outdoor “chiringuito” bars and a busy maritime promenade. A portside row of mainstream clothing shops, Mediterranean restaurants, and ice cream parlors extends to the landmark La Farola lighthouse. Centre Pompidou has modern art in a striking glass cube, and Plaza de Toros bullring includes exhibits on the sport’s history.

Torremolinos Old Town to Beach Update 19 June 2021 More Shops Open Costa del Sol | Málaga Spain [4K]

Torremolinos used to be a fishing village before the growth of tourism in the area began in the late 1950s. It was the first of the Costa del Sol resorts to be developed and is considered the most popular in the region.

Costa del Sol enjoys one of the best climates in Europe. It has long, dry summers with relatively low humidity and mild winters with occasional rainfall.

The beach extends for nearly 8 kilometers (5 miles) and has cycle and skating lanes alongside the fully lit`promenade with chiringuitos and beach bars.

The sunny seaside town of Torremolinos is famous for its countless beaches. In the past, the region was home to quiet fishing villages, but it became a favorite destination for vacationers in Europe during the 1950s, and its popularity has continued to grow ever since.

The promenade is full of restaurants and beach bars, which make the area very lively both day and night. And there are six main beaches in Torremolinos: Los Alamos, Playamar, Bajondillo, La Carihuela, Montemar and El Saltillo.
