Malaga port receives a significant number of passengers, both from its ferry connections with Melilla, and from tourist cruises with Mediterranean and Atlantic routes. The port is conveniently located near the city centre, within easy walking distance to all of Malaga’s cultural and historical highlights. There is a nice selection of cafes/restaurants along the harbour front. There are also a number of shops as you get further around towards the cruise terminal. A great place to sit outside and just observe the world pass you by.

Malaga City’s Playa de la Malagueta (La Malagueta Beach) is one of the busiest beaches in the center of the city. During the summer the coast gets filled with lot of locals and tourists due to its close proximity to Málaga.
This well-known beach has sand directly brought in from the Sahara to make it wider. There are plenty of restaurants, “chiringuitos” and beach bars that offer wide variety of local foods. There are also large areas where you can do outdoor exercises. La Malagueta is one of those beaches that’s highly recommended both by day and by night.

A product of the tourist boom in the 1960s, Torremolinos began as a small fishing village to a large, densely-populated town dedicated entirely to sun and sand tourism. Torremolinos showcases large beaches with various related facilities and services.
The famous Pimentel Tower is the town’s most significant monnument and serves as an icon, with some traces of the past still visible around the areas of La Carihuela and Bajondillo districts.
The origins and name of the town derive from a watchtower (torre) and the mills (molinos9 built there to grind wheat, positioned perpendicularly to the ocean in order to harness the hydraulic power generated by the water flowing into it.
During the second half of the 20th century, Torremolinos has changed significantly with regards to the population’s lifestyle and economic activities when the progressive development of tourism that had begun which created a transformation that turned the town into one of today’s best-known holiday resorts

With more than 2,100 meters long and an average width of 40 meters, La Carihuela beach is considered as the longest beach in Torremolinos. Its volcanic roots give the sand a dark color with calm waters.
An old fishing neighborhood, La Carihuela still preserves the charm of a typical and traditional Andalusian village. This area is also known for its excellent seafood restaurants and beach bars or chiringuitos.

Los Boliches beach is located between Las Gaviotas beach and Fuengirola beach. It is equipped with sports facilities. The beach is approximately two (2) kilometers in length and forty (40) meters in width. Near the area many restaurants, hotels and seaside promenade are found.
The beach has easy access and an area that adapts to people with reduced mobility. Sunbeds and beach umbrellas can be rented, as well as paddle boats to enjoy. This fully equipped beach is perfect for families as there are many amenities present with the area.

La Carihuela, in the eastern part of the municipality, was in years past a traditional fishing village inhabited by people who devoted themselves to the seafarer”s life. At the present time only a few picturesque nooks and crannies remain of the old quarter as reminders of the place”s former identity. For years now La Carihuela has been a cosmopolitan centre in which are concentrated innumerable hotel, leisure and gastronomic establishments. It is precisely the district”s gastronomy that has earned this strip of the Torremolinos coast well deserved fame that has spread beyond all borders, and all because of the remarkable “pescaíto” (small fried fish) that is served in restaurants in this area.
While it is true that pescaíto is without a doubt the dish most characteristic of the entire coast of Málaga, and it can be enjoyed anywhere with an assurance of quality, it seems that there is a secret for preparing this product that only the professionals in the kitchens of La Carihuela know. It is with good reason that the manner of preparing the different kinds of fish that are served there is praised above all other methods by the thousands of people per day who patronise the restaurants.
The beach of La Carihuela, 2.1 kilometres long and fully provided with every service imaginable, extends to the Benalmádena Leisure Port. It is accessible along its entire length by way of the pleasant and bustling seafront promenade, which is bordered by the most venerable restaurants and beach bars in the region and by the large hotels, now completely renovated, that helped catapult this section of Málaga onto the international stage.
