Torremolinos, a popular Mediterranean resort town on Spain’s Costa del Sol, is a favourite destination for beach lovers and sunseekers. Once a traditional fishing village, it became one of southern Spain’s most popular holiday destinations during the 1950s. Today, visitors are drawn to its warm Mediterranean climate, beautiful coastline, dark sandy beaches and wide range of watersports and beach activities.
There are plenty of things to do in Torremolinos beyond the beach. The resort combines attractive green spaces, cultural attractions, historic landmarks and stunning coastal views, making it an excellent choice for a summer holiday. Families can enjoy a variety of activities and attractions, while younger travellers can experience the area’s lively nightlife, with numerous bars, clubs and entertainment venues.
Located just south of Málaga, Torremolinos is also renowned for its waterfront dining and traditional seaside atmosphere. The former fishing village of La Carihuela is particularly popular for its excellent seafood restaurants, beachfront hotels and relaxed Mediterranean setting. The area is an ideal place to enjoy fresh local cuisine while taking in views of the Mediterranean Sea.
For those interested in history and shopping, Torremolinos Old Town is well worth exploring. From the Paseo Marítimo del Bajondillo, visitors can head inland along the pedestrianised Calle San Miguel, one of the town’s busiest shopping streets. Lined with restaurants, bars, jewellers, fashion boutiques, souvenir shops and delicatessens, it offers a lively introduction to the heart of Torremolinos.
Torremolinos also has several notable historic landmarks, including the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, an 18th-century Andalusian neoclassical church located at the end of Calle San Miguel. Another important attraction is the Torre de Pimentel (Tower of the Mills), a surviving 14th-century reminder of the town’s medieval past. With its Costa del Sol beaches, family-friendly attractions, historic sights, restaurants and vibrant nightlife, Torremolinos is an appealing destination for a memorable holiday in southern Spain.

NUEVO RESTAURANTE EN MÁLAGA CON UN CONCEPTO MUY DIFERENTE👀🔥
.
🏠 Ochenta Grados
.
📍Alameda de Colón, 17
.

During the summer season, Torremolinos’ Old Town comes alive with a carefree and welcoming atmosphere that draws both locals and visitors into its charming streets and lively plazas. As the temperatures cool after sunset, young, open-minded crowds gather on outdoor terraces to enjoy drinks, conversation, and the relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle. The town has long been celebrated for its inclusive spirit, and its vibrant mix of residents and international visitors creates a friendly environment where everyone feels welcome to enjoy the evening.
The Old Town’s plazas each offer their own unique character, with local bars, traditional taverns, stylish pubs, and cafés creating a lively yet unhurried social scene. People wander from square to square, stopping for cocktails, local wines, or tapas while enjoying live music, entertainment, and the warm summer air. The atmosphere is both chilled and energetic, making it easy to spend hours exploring the different corners of the town, each offering its own blend of charm, music, and outdoor dining.
As the evening unfolds, many head to the Nogalera district, the heart of Torremolinos’ nightlife and one of Spain’s best-known LGBTQ+ destinations. Its diverse selection of bars, clubs, and late-night venues attracts an international crowd looking to dance, socialize, and celebrate into the early hours. For those seeking a quieter alternative, nearby Pueblo Blanco offers a more relaxed setting, with elegant cocktail bars, welcoming terraces, and a laid-back ambience that’s perfect for enjoying a leisurely drink under the stars. Together, Nogalera and Pueblo Blanco showcase the variety of Torremolinos’ summer nightlife, offering something to suit every mood and style.

The Port of Málaga (Puerto de Málaga) is a historic international seaport on Spain’s southern Mediterranean coast. Located along the Costa del Sol, it is considered one of the oldest ports in the Mediterranean and is widely recognized as Spain’s oldest continuously operating port. Today, it serves as an important hub for tourism and maritime activity, welcoming cruise ships and luxury yachts throughout the year.
The Centre Pompidou Málaga, located in the distinctive El Cubo structure near the port, is a branch of France’s Georges Pompidou National Center of Art and Culture. The museum showcases modern and contemporary art through semi-permanent exhibitions, offering visitors a thematic and chronological journey through the art of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Muelle Uno and Quay 2 form a bustling waterfront area filled with shops, cafés, bars, restaurants, and leisure spaces. Visitors can enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere while exploring the Paseo de Muelle Uno and its striking Pérgola Zigzagueante, recognized for its distinctive zigzag-shaped canopy. The waterfront is also a popular docking area for cruise ships and luxury yachts.
Another iconic landmark is La Farola de Málaga, the historic lighthouse completed around 1817. It has become one of the city’s most recognizable symbols and gives its name to the surrounding promenade. With its combination of history, culture, shopping, dining, and scenic views, Málaga’s port is one of the city’s most attractive areas to explore.
