Torremolinos, a popular Mediterranean resort town on Spain’s Costa del Sol, is a favourite destination for beach lovers and sunseekers. Once a traditional fishing village, it became one of southern Spain’s most popular holiday destinations during the 1950s. Today, visitors are drawn to its warm Mediterranean climate, beautiful coastline, dark sandy beaches and wide range of watersports and beach activities.

There are plenty of things to do in Torremolinos beyond the beach. The resort combines attractive green spaces, cultural attractions, historic landmarks and stunning coastal views, making it an excellent choice for a summer holiday. Families can enjoy a variety of activities and attractions, while younger travellers can experience the area’s lively nightlife, with numerous bars, clubs and entertainment venues.

Located just south of Málaga, Torremolinos is also renowned for its waterfront dining and traditional seaside atmosphere. The former fishing village of La Carihuela is particularly popular for its excellent seafood restaurants, beachfront hotels and relaxed Mediterranean setting. The area is an ideal place to enjoy fresh local cuisine while taking in views of the Mediterranean Sea.

For those interested in history and shopping, Torremolinos Old Town is well worth exploring. From the Paseo Marítimo del Bajondillo, visitors can head inland along the pedestrianised Calle San Miguel, one of the town’s busiest shopping streets. Lined with restaurants, bars, jewellers, fashion boutiques, souvenir shops and delicatessens, it offers a lively introduction to the heart of Torremolinos.

Torremolinos also has several notable historic landmarks, including the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, an 18th-century Andalusian neoclassical church located at the end of Calle San Miguel. Another important attraction is the Torre de Pimentel (Tower of the Mills), a surviving 14th-century reminder of the town’s medieval past. With its Costa del Sol beaches, family-friendly attractions, historic sights, restaurants and vibrant nightlife, Torremolinos is an appealing destination for a memorable holiday in southern Spain.

  29. Hi Paul, There’s good selection of shops there, and bars, Irish themed places. Not as hyped us as the “Beni” for at. Paddy’s ’ day. But good atmosphere, bet be lively in the evenings. Good for you be sit with a tipple or 6 !! Loved the tree lined street, very pleasant. When I heard the Irish music, thought you were gonna burst into an Irish Jig !! Haha. Hey Paul, the green st. Paddy’s attire great, loved your hat. noticed you were definately on a mission, to get your Fridge Magnets. a lot shops to choose from, be in my element bit retail therapy. Never been there, but looks very nice. The Guinness slight varied prices, but fair.

  32. Well Paul Torremolinos looks a lot cleaner than it does 25years ago.In my opinion it was the worst place on the Costa Del Sol. The only Decent place was down on the seafront called La Carihuela an area full of amazing Seafood restaurants. Keep them coming Paul you’re bringing back lots of memories. Thanks Tony
