Walking Tour of Torremolinos (Spain) | From Town Center to the Beach via Cuesta del Tajo
In this walk, we’ll begin our walk in the heart of Torremolinos and make our way down to the beach and promenade by one of the most traditional and charming paths: the Cuesta del Tajo.
This route, filled with local shops and history, connects the bustling town center with the relaxed coastal atmosphere. Once at the bottom, we’ll enjoy the sea breeze, the views of Bajondillo Beach, and the laid-back vibe of the promenade.

The regional government of Andalusia has ordered the evacuation of almost 400 families in Malaga due to the risk of flooding. Aemet has activated an orange alert in four areas of the province, which have been hit by continuous rain for two weeks.
Storm Laurence has caused flooding in Málaga in recent days . The Guadalhorce River has overflowed, flooding areas of the Campanillas district, as well as part of the Cártama station. Likewise, other areas of the province have also been affected, both in Marbella and in the Axarquía region. This situation has made it inevitable to close traffic to prevent accidents at critical points or congestion.

The Mediterranean resort town of Torremolinos in southern Spain’s Costa del Sol region is a sunseeker’s haven. In the 1950s, this former fishing village became one of the most popular destinations for sun-loving tourists. Stretches of dark, sandy beaches offer a multitude of watersports and beach activities, while the many bars, restaurants and local sights occupy holidaymakers.
Torremolinos, just south of the central city of Málaga, has many amazing seafood restaurants and hotels along the waterfront La Carihuela village. The pedestrian-only Calle San Miguel is a bustling shopping district that leads directly to Playa Bajondillo.
Discover the bustling centre of Torremolinos Old Town that stretches from the seafront promenade. Starting along the section known as Paseo Marítimo, make your way in toward the oldest section of the town to stroll along the pedestrianised Calle San Miguel. It’s lined with restaurants and bars, as well as shops ranging from jewellers and fashion boutiques to souvenir stores and delicatessens.
As you meander the streets, you’ll also cross paths with Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, an 18th-century Andalusian neoclassical-style church in a small square at the end of Calle San Miguel. Another historical point of interest is the only remaining trace of Torre de Pimentel (Tower of the Mills), which dates back to the 1300s.
