Torremolinos to Benalmadena, Spain | Sunny Day After the Storm – Costa del Sol Promenade 4K Walk

Join us on this stunning walking tour from Torremolinos to Benalmadena, in the province of Malaga, on the beautiful Costa del Sol in Andalucia (Spain). After yesterday’s yellow weather warning for rain and wind, today the streets are once again enjoying the region’s typical good weather, with a splendid clear and sunny day that brings people back outside to enjoy the atmosphere.

We begin our walk in La Nogalera Square, next to the train station, then make our way through San Miguel Street and down Cuesta del Tajo to reach the El Bajondillo promenade. From there, we continue along the seafront without turning off, heading toward Puerto Marina and passing through the promenade of La Carihuela. We then walk along the entire Benalmadena seafront promenade, passing by the iconic Bil-Bil Castle.

This video is perfect for travelers planning a vacation or for those looking for a peaceful place to retire in Andalucia, as it offers a realistic glimpse of the coastal charm of Torremolinos, Benalmadena, and the Costa del Sol.

❄️ WHY THE COSTA DEL SOL IN WINTER?
In March, the air is soft and the light hangs low over the Mediterranean. Temperatures hover around 17–20°C, the skies are clear, and the beaches stretch out in long, empty lines of sand. Along the coast between Torremolinos and Benalmadena, the season slows down — and something more authentic begins to appear.

Terraces fill with residents instead of tour groups. Morning coffee lasts a little longer. Conversations drift through narrow streets that once again belong to the people who live here. Under the gentle winter sun, the coastline reveals a quieter beauty that summer rarely allows.

For those dreaming of a winter escape, considering retirement on the Costa del Sol, or simply curious about what everyday life in Malaga province really feels like, this walk offers an honest, unfiltered view of these beloved Andalusian towns in March 2026.

This is Spain in its quiet season — warm light, slow days, and the Mediterranean breathing calmly beside you.

5 minutes ago in Malaga, Spain! Dam overflows, submerging town after town in Malaga

The regional government of Andalusia has ordered the evacuation of almost 400 families in Malaga due to the risk of flooding. Aemet has activated an orange alert in four areas of the province, which have been hit by continuous rain for two weeks.

Storm Laurence has caused flooding in Málaga in recent days . The Guadalhorce River has overflowed, flooding areas of the Campanillas district, as well as part of the Cártama station. Likewise, other areas of the province have also been affected, both in Marbella and in the Axarquía region. This situation has made it inevitable to close traffic to prevent accidents at critical points or congestion.

The Kokun beach bar in Torremolinos is burned after a fire at dawn – aftermath 🔥

The Kokun beach bar in Torremolinos is burned after a fire at dawn - aftermath 🔥

Completely burned, destroyed, unusable… Total loss. Unfortunately, this has been the result of a fire that broke out this Thursday morning in one of the most popular and renowned beach bars on Paseo de Los Álamos, in Torremolinos. This is the Kokun Ocean Club, which has been closed to the public for a month, as is customary among hoteliers in the area when the low season arrives.

The Torremolinos firefighters received the warning call for this fire at 00:35 in the morning this Thursday and immediately went to ‘ground zero’ where they found an impressive column of smoke that was very difficult to put out. In fact, first thing in the morning, the firefighters continued with the extinguishing work and moistening the area so that it could not spread any further, partly due to the large amount of materials such as wood or plastic that spread the flames through the premises.

There have been up to twelve firefighters who have worked during the night, accompanied by the Local Police force, and who continue with their extinction work, they still consider that it is too early to ‘venture’ to determine a possible cause of this fire. It will now be the job of the Scientific Police, who soon went to Kokun this Thursday morning, to open an investigation and study where this fire could originate and how.

Torremolinos, Spain After Lockdown. What's it like now?

Mikko the Catman and I head over to Torremolinos after the current travel restrictions have been lifted. We spend a day exploring and eating espetos (grilled sardines) right on the beach. It was a picture perfect Sunday afternoon, with calm seas, delicious food and great views. After dinner we head over to Carihuela and found this great pastry shop called Naranjitos. We had the best carrot and red velvet cakes ever. Plus we even did a live chat with everyone from there. It was a great day in Torremolinos.

Slide closes in Spain a day after opening for being too dangerous

A 38-metre-long, steep slide linking two streets in a southern Spanish town has been closed pending safety checks a day after it opened to the public. The slide in Estepona, on the Costa del Sol, is intended to give residents of all ages a quick way to travel between the streets, which sit at very different levels.
