Benalmádena is a town located between Fuengirola and Torremolinos, with lots of great beaches and a wide variety of services and accommodation for the tourists. Benalmádena Costa is home to the majority of the area’s attractions most importantly the golden sandy beaches. Many restaurants and bars serving food from all over the world are present in the area. Chiringuitos or local seafood restaurants on the beach are famous in the area. The friendly, relaxed and chill atmosphere all year makes it one of the most beloved destinations for families.

Benalmádena indeed has everything like top-quality beaches, the modern and outstanding Puerto Marina, a Casino located in Torrequebrada, several golf courses, amusement parks such as Tivoli World and Holiday World Beach Club, and plenty of attractions like Sea Life, Parque de la Paloma, and Butterfly Garden making sure that all visitors have an unforgettable experience during their stay.

At the Benalmádena beach you can visit the Castle El Bil-Bil, an Arabic style building, which is adorned with fountains and is decorated according to Nazari tradition. Another building of great interest in Benalmádena is the Castle of Colomares, dedicated to the discovery of America. This construction creates a grand visual impact by combining all architectural styles.

La Carihuela is a charming seaside district in Torremolinos, located in the south-western part of the town. It is an ideal place for a leisurely stroll, thanks to its spacious beachfront promenade, which stretches from El Bajondillo and Los Álamos in one direction to Benalmádena’s Puerto Marina in the other.

Traditionally, La Carihuela was a fishing village, with its residents relying on the abundant fish and shellfish of the Mediterranean Sea along Málaga Bay. The rise of tourism in the 1950s transformed the area, creating new opportunities as restaurants and chiringuitos (traditional beachfront eateries) opened, allowing both locals and visitors to enjoy freshly caught seafood.

Despite its modern development, La Carihuela has retained much of its authentic character. Its narrow Andalusian streets, traditional shops, and welcoming atmosphere continue to reflect its rich heritage. Today, the district is also renowned for its outstanding seafood cuisine, making it a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the region’s culinary traditions.

Located just 7 km west of Málaga Airport, Torremolinos was the first resort to emerge on the Costa del Sol. Once a quiet fishing village, it began its transformation in the early 1960s into one of Spain’s most popular holiday destinations. Despite its modern development, the town still retains traces of its fishing heritage, with traditional seafood restaurants nestled alongside stylish boutiques, cafés, and gift shops in the town centre. The tourism boom of the 1950s and 1960s reshaped Torremolinos, creating the vibrant resort visitors know today.

Today, Torremolinos is a lively coastal destination celebrated for its long sandy beaches, extensive selection of hotels and restaurants, and wide range of leisure activities. During the summer months, the resort attracts visitors looking to enjoy its energetic nightlife and entertainment scene. Outside the peak season, however, the atmosphere becomes more relaxed and distinctly Andalusian, with locals returning to the beaches, cafés, and promenades, giving the town a warm and authentic character.

At the heart of Torremolinos is Calle San Miguel, the town’s bustling pedestrian shopping street. Lined with fashion boutiques, local stores, cafés, and souvenir shops, it is one of the busiest and most vibrant areas in the resort. At its southern end, the Cuesta del Tajo leads down towards El Bajondillo, passing through one of the town’s oldest neighbourhoods. This charming area is filled with restaurants, small market-style stalls, and picturesque streets that eventually open onto the popular El Bajondillo Beach.

Running alongside the coastline, the Paseo Marítimo promenade stretches east towards Playamar and west through La Carihuela, continuing as far as Benalmádena Marina. The walk offers beautiful Mediterranean views, dramatic coastal rock formations, and easy access to several of Torremolinos’ beaches. La Carihuela, the town’s former fishing quarter, remains one of its most charming neighbourhoods. Its narrow streets, whitewashed houses, colourful bougainvillea, and relaxed atmosphere provide a glimpse of the area’s past. Many original fishermen’s cottages still stand, while others have been transformed into inviting cafés, tapas bars, and shops. The district is particularly renowned for its outstanding seafood restaurants and traditional chiringuitos, making it one of the best places to experience the flavours and character of the Costa del Sol.

Málaga is situated in Andalucía, in southern Spain, and is widely known as the “capital of the Costa del Sol.” The city attracts an estimated six million visitors each year, drawn by its wonderful climate, beautiful coastline, and sandy beaches. As the largest and most populous coastal city in southern Spain, Málaga combines a vibrant modern lifestyle with a rich historical and cultural heritage.

When the sun goes down, Málaga comes alive with a lively and diverse nightlife scene. Visitors can wander through the city’s charming winding streets and narrow alleyways, discovering everything from traditional tapas bars and cosy wine cellars to contemporary bars, clubs, and late-night venues. In the heart of the city centre, modern energy blends effortlessly with historic surroundings, creating one of the Costa del Sol’s most popular entertainment districts.

As the sun sets, La Carihuela comes alive with a vibrant yet relaxed nightlife. The seafront is lined with excellent seafood restaurants, traditional tapas bars, and welcoming pubs, where illuminated terraces create the perfect setting to enjoy the evening. Both locals and visitors gather here to soak up the lively atmosphere, accompanied by the sounds of conversation, laughter, and occasional live music.

Málaga está explotando: turismo récord, inversión extranjera, empresas grandes, alquileres disparados y gente de fuera llegando con sueldos mucho más altos.

Pero hay una pregunta que me obsesiona: ¿la gente que ha nacido, trabaja y vive en Málaga todavía puede permitirse quedarse en Málaga? 🏠

En este vídeo salimos a la calle para preguntar cuánto cobra la gente en Málaga, cuánto paga de alquiler y qué está pasando realmente con una ciudad que parece ir como un tiro… pero no para todo el mundo.

Hablamos con administrativos, cocineros, camareros, trabajadores del renting, programadores, autónomos y gente que vive el día a día de la ciudad. Y los números duelen: sueldos de 1.300€, 1.400€ o 1.600€ al mes, alquileres por encima de 1.200€ y habitaciones que pueden llegar hasta los 1.000€.

Málaga crece, sí. Pero la gran pregunta es: ¿quién está pudiendo disfrutar ese crecimiento?

Porque este vídeo no va solo de sueldos. Va de vivienda, turismo, trabajo, ahorro, independencia, calidad de vida y de una ciudad que mucha gente ama… pero que cada vez parece más difícil para los propios malagueños.

Vedlo hasta el final, porque la conclusión resume muy bien el problema: Málaga tiene dinero, movimiento y oportunidades, pero quizá ya no está pensada para todos.

Every August, Málaga comes alive with the vibrant colors, music, dancing, and traditions of the Feria de Málaga—one of the Costa del Sol’s most exciting annual celebrations. Welcoming around two million visitors, this week-long festival offers something for everyone, from cultural performances and traditional dances to live music, delicious food, and thrilling fairground attractions.

The Night Fair at Cortijo de Torres

Located away from the city centre, the Night Fair is the perfect place to continue the celebrations into the evening. The fairground is packed with rides and attractions for visitors of all ages, making it especially popular with families and thrill-seekers.

One of the highlights is the traditional caseta—a temporary pavilion built from lightweight materials where music, dancing, and refreshments bring the festival atmosphere to life. Many casetas feature a tablao, a raised area dedicated to dancing and performances. Most are open to the public, while others are private and require membership or an invitation.

Dress Like a Local

Traditional Andalusian clothing is an important part of the Feria experience. Men often wear campero-style outfits, while women traditionally wear colorful flamenco dresses, known as trajes de gitana or trajes de flamenca. Visitors can find specialist shops selling these outfits throughout Málaga, ranging from affordable designs to elaborate dresses made with luxurious fabrics and intricate details.

Dance to the Rhythm of Málaga

Music and dance are at the heart of the Feria. Keep an eye out for performances of flamenco, malagueñas, verdiales, and sevillanas—four styles that capture the spirit and traditions of Andalusia. Whether you are an experienced dancer or simply watching from the sidelines, the infectious rhythms make it difficult not to join in!

Taste the Flavours of the Feria

No visit to the Feria would be complete without sampling some of its traditional drinks.

Cartojal, a sweet white wine made from Muscatel grapes, is one of the festival’s most iconic drinks. Traditionally served very cold, it is enjoyed throughout the Feria and can be found in bars, restaurants, and other establishments around Málaga. A 750 ml bottle typically costs around €5–€7.

Another popular choice is the rebujito, a refreshing Andalusian drink made by mixing chamomile wine with Sprite or 7UP and fresh mint. Served ice-cold, it is particularly welcome during Málaga’s warm summer celebrations.

The Biznaga: Málaga’s Floral Symbol

The biznaga is one of Málaga’s most recognizable symbols. This delicate, fragrant creation is traditionally made by arranging jasmine flowers on the stem of a thistle-like plant known as nerdo. During the Feria, the city is filled with these beautiful floral arrangements, and it is one of the busiest times of the year for biznaga sellers.

Málaga Day Trip: The Most Beautiful Corner of the Costa del Sol

Nerja & Frigiliana: a stunning seaside town with Europe’s only subtropical microclimate, and a hillside village consistently voted the most beautiful in Spain. This might be the perfect day trip from Málaga.

🏖️ One day, two completely different sides of the Costa del Sol: the beaches of Nerja and the whitewashed streets of Frigiliana, just 10 minutes apart.

We spent a day exploring the eastern Costa del Sol: the famous Balcón de Europa, Nerja’s beaches and old town, then up into the hills to Frigiliana, which ended up being one of our favorite places in all of Andalusia.
