Malaga City Spain Beautiful City October 2023 Update Costa del Sol | Andalucía [4K]

Málaga has remained unspoilt, largely untouched by mass tourism despite its bustling airport and rarely explored by sun-seeking visitors – despite the city itself being home to vast stretches of sandy beaches. These beaches share the soft sand and gentle Mediterranean surf of those found in Torremolinos, Marbella or Fuengirola, but what lies in front is more traditionally Spanish.

Málaga dots its paseo marítimo with several traditional chiringuitos, tapas bars and seafood restaurants; so, if this is your thing, visit, relax and enjoy the beach in the same manner as a local would.

The city’s location in south-western Spain ensures its weather is pleasantly warm all year round. In summer it gets hot, but not uncomfortably so like Sevilla and Córdoba, while winters are rarely cold.

The lengthy promenade throbs with activity throughout the year, attracting Málaga residents of all ages: black-clad older folk amble along, stopping intermittently to enjoy the horizon from the comfort of a shaded bench; fitness enthusiasts cycle, jog or roller-blade past, weaving in and out of the skateboarding or moped-riding teens that frequent the area in a refreshingly non-threatening manner.

In the stunning old town area of the city, Málaga’s rich history comes to life in the form of many intriguing and often spectacular sights. The excellent Picasso Museum (Pablo Picasso was born in Málaga) is one of the finest of its kind in Europe, while the majesty of the Alcazaba and the 14th century Gibralfaro Castle hints at a history defined by battle and glory. The beautifully baroque cathedral is flanked by fragrant gardens, a pretty café-lined square and the ever-present horse-drawn carriage stations.

The atmosphere in Málaga’s tightly woven cobbled streets – particularly during the hot summer months – is intoxicating, almost Bohemian, particularly in the vibrant Plaza de la Constitución and Soho district, while the boutiques and technology stores that populate the chic Calle Larios offer a glimpse of a city that has come to terms with its unique position at the heart of southern Spain’s premier tourist destination.

Torremolinos is a charming coastal town located in the province of Malaga, in the Andalusia region of southern Spain. With a rich history dating back to the time of the Phoenicians, this city has undergone an impressive transformation in recent decades, becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Costa del Sol.

Its beaches, bathed by the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea, are the main attraction of Torremolinos. Playa de la Carihuela and Playa del Bajondillo are two of the best known, with their golden sand and a wide range of water activities and restaurants along the promenade. Here, visitors can enjoy the Andalusian sun and rich Spanish cuisine.

The old town of Torremolinos, known as “El Calvario”, is a labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets and whitewashed houses with Andalusian charm. You’ll find picturesque squares, such as Plaza de la Independencia, where locals gather to enjoy tapas and wine. The famous La Nogalera neighborhood is also a landmark, known for its lively nightlife and inclusive atmosphere.

Culture is not far behind in Torremolinos, with attractions such as the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Center, which hosts art exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year. Additionally, the Molino de Inca Botanical Garden offers an oasis of serenity with a variety of exotic plants.

Torremolinos is the perfect blend of a cosmopolitan town and a traditional Andalusian fishing village. With its seven kilometers-long coastline, Torremolinos offers wonderful, seafront promenades.

Benalmadena costa is one of the three main urban areas in Benalmadena. It has become one of Costa del Sol’s most essential locations, with its golden sandy beaches.

Malaga City, gateway to southern Spain and the Costa del Sol, birthplace of Picasso and boasting one of the best climates in Europe. Underrated for so many years, Malaga City is now justifiably one of Spain’s hottest cultural, gastronomic and leisure destinations.

The city’s eclectic mix of Moorish, Renaissance and Modernist cultural landmarks are all within walking distance. The vibrant streets of the old town, the uber cool area of SOHO, where some of the world’s most important urban artists have left their mark, the super modern Muelle Uno port, with its Michelin star restaurants, cocktail bars and fashion boutiques, and no less than 15 golden sand beaches within the city limit, all come together to create a destination of excellence.

Málaga is located in Andalucía, south of Spain. It is also known as “the capital of the Costa del Sol.” An estimate of six million tourists visit the city every year to enjoy the climate, the sea and its beaches. Málaga is also the largest and most populated coastal city in southern Spain.

This beautiful city has two thousand-eight hundred years of history and considered as one of the oldest cities in Europe. A walk by the old town is a must!

Málaga experienced the greatest civilizations of the Mediterranean, from the Phoenicians and the Greeks to the Romans, due to its strategic location of the port, a significant area along the trade routes since the ancient times.

The city center of Málaga is a place where you can see lots of interesting places. Málaga is rich in culture, modernity and historical monuments.

Its history dates back to the Phoenician times, and later passed onto the Romans and Arabs who left part of their culture and constructions. The capital of the Costal del Sol, Málaga was in the end conquered by the Catholic Kings in the year 1487, leaving an incomplete cathedral due to the lack of funds back then, known as “La Manquita.” The are also a numerous monuments to visit, including the Alcazaba Arabic Castle and the Gibralfaro castle.

Pablo Picasso was also born in the city of Málaga, the Plaza where he used to play as a child still exists today, as well as his house which is now a museum that is accessible today for everyone.

The Calle Larios offers a mixture of well-known chain stores and boutiques for shopping, and cafetería’s and ice cream parlors as well. Through its streets you can find more shops and restaurants and bars.

Málaga has also some of the best tapas bars in the country. Much of which is fish and shellfish due to its Mediterranean location. At the center of the town, a wide range mix of restaurants, from traditional Spanish and seafood, to Moroccan, South American, and Asian cuisines respectively.

Estepona Spain Beautiful Town Summer 2023 Update Costa del Sol | Málaga [4K 60fps]

With a population of 70,000, Estepona is one of the few coastal towns that has succeeded in maintaining its pueblo charm and character. Notwithstanding, all the tourist facilities are here, including hotels, restaurants, leisure and cultural activities, and shops.

The numerous street cafes and tapas bars still serve traditional Spanish delicacies. In the ‘old town’ the steep, narrow streets are pedestrianised and decorated with different color flower pots. It is a delight for photographers. You will find bars and small shops in Estepona, where you’d least expect them, all very inviting and friendly.

Estepona is the fishing village with lots of character and an interesting history, reflected by the large number of fascinating old buildings in town. However if you are more interested in the present than the past, don’t worry, there is plenty for everyone to experience and enjoy.

Estepona is a rare coastal destination – one of the few towns on the Costa del Sol to have retained its character and traditional feel, despite the influx of tourism in this part of Andalucia.

The casco antiguo (old town) is what you’d expect from a picturesque Andalucian town – narrow, cobbled streets lined with beautiful stone houses and plazas, and walls ablaze with vibrant colour from the large variety of flora. This part of the town is truly beautiful and has the majority of tapas bars and Spanish restaurants, as well as most hostals or hostels.

In the cobbled streets of the old town you will find many good quality tapas bars and restaurants, serving the very best of authentic, traditional generally serving Spanish cuisine. In the summer evenings the terraces are full of diners. Stroll around the old town and you will also find a few hidden gems. Many restaurants are located around Plaza de los Flores and nearby Calle Santa Ana and Calle Castilla. On the east side of Calle de la Terazza the parallel streets of Calle Caridad and Calle Málaga have many restaurants all the way down to Plaza Ortiz.

It is popular with holiday visitors during the summer months. The port is home to a number of popular restaurants and bars that have later-opening licences than those in the old town, an all round Spanish family village atmosphere.

Located between Málaga and Marbella, the Andalusian coastal town of Fuengirola is just about a 30 minute drive away from both cities. Offering a variety of activities for everyone, Fuengirola is a city that has experienced a huge change in the last couple of decades and is today more alive and vibrant than ever, especially in summer.

Fuengirola’s tourist journey started all the way back in the 1960s and today it is considered as one of the most popular holiday destinations on the Costa del Sol. The town was originally a fishing village, the center of which is the Plaza de la Constitución, although the old fishing village isn’t visible today due to the rise of modern high-rise apartments. The town has experienced extensive investment in order to make sure it still is a beautiful and compelling holiday destination.

Foreigners come to visit Fuengirola to take their chance to enjoy the wonderful Spanish beaches and the rich and delicious gastronomy the region offers.

Torremolinos, an old fishing village located just 13 kilometres from Málaga is, today, a fantastic holiday destination if you’re looking for nice beaches, an excellent climate, good food and buzzing nightlife. This town has more than 68,000 inhabitants, 15,000 of which are foreigners who’ve been seduced by its charms.

In the fifties, a key decade for Torremolinos, it became one of the most popular destinations on the Costa del Sol. It enticed numerous foreigners, who were attracted by the town’s liberal character. Intellectuals of the time, artists and lots of members of the jet set enjoyed the sun during the day, and the animated evenings. This was the time of the famous cultural movement “movida malagueña.” Today, its nightlife is still legendary, thanks to the variety of beach bars and clubs where you can keep partying until dawn, most especially during the summer.

The Calle de San Miguel is the beating heart of the city where everything happens. It is a pedestrianised street lined with shops, which—at its end—gives out onto the promenade and the Playa de Bajondillo. Taking a stroll along San Miguel, you’ll come across the Molino de la Torre, a tower built in the fourteenth century, from which the guards of the Kingdom of Granada were defending the city, keeping guard from the excellent vantage point at the top of a cliff, protecting the city against the possible enemies who could attack from the sea. Today, it’s known as the Torre de Pimentel.

Lots of people say that Torremolinos has some of the best beaches in Málaga, thanks to both their length and their sand. One of the best known is the Playa del Bajondillo, located in the neighbourhood which it takes its name from, between Playamar and Playa de la Carihuela. 40 metres wide and more than a kilometre long, this beach is one of the most frequently visited thanks to how close it is to the city centre, and how easy it is to access. What’s more, it offers water sports, and you can enjoy a wonderfully relaxed beach day here.

The other most popular beach in Torremolinos is La Carihuela, which is 2,100 metres long, and is also 40 metres wide. It is said to be the best urban beach in Málaga, thanks to its clean waters and fine sand. In the past, dozens of fishermen lived in this area, going out to sea every day. These days, the restaurants or beach bars right on the shore—serving fried fish, gazpacho, and other delicacies from Málaga—are hugely popular with visitors. If you prefer, you can also enjoy its wide seaside promenade, perfect for a day of shopping, and bursting with restaurants and clubs.
