Fuengirola has become one of the favorite destinations for tourists who come to the province of Málaga thanks to the significant development of its infrastructures. This municipality, which belongs to the Costa del Sol Occidental, is located in the center of the Costa del Sol coastline and its easy access from anywhere facilitates the arrival of many tourists throughout the year.
If you are looking for a vacation on the beach without the hustle and bustle of the big cities, but with all its services, we recommend that you check everything that Fuengirola can offer you.
Fuengirola’s promenade stretches for 8 kilometers, which makes it one of the longest in Spain. The walk runs through the beaches of the municipality along with great bars, restaurants, terraces, hotels and shops.
The Castle of Sohail is one of the main tourist attractions of Fuengirola. Its views of the Mediterranean and the nearby Sierra de Mijas are fantastic. Abderramán III had the castle built in 956. Today, the site serves as the setting for numerous concerts and cultural events.
The Fuengirola Bullring, inaugurated in 1962, hosts every season all kinds of bullfighting and equestrian festivities, among which the national horse-drawn carriage and carriage competition stands out.
The archaeological site of the Finca del Secretario is also worth visiting. The discovery of this Roman enclave took place in the 70s. In it, remains from between the 1st and 5th centuries AD were found, including an alfar, some thermal baths and a salting factory. The site has an interpretation center where the rooms of the hot springs that have been recreated stand out.

La Carihuela in Torremolinos is 18 km away from the city center, and ranges from El Bajondillo to the Benalmádena Marina.
If the beach of La Carihuela stands out for something, it is because of the number of nearby restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy the typical Málaga fried fish or numerous traditional dishes.
Its name pays tribute to the old fishing district located to the east of the city, which today has become a cosmopolitan area that concentrates a large number of leisure establishments and hotels.
The palm grove areas with natural grass provide a pleasant shade that invites you to enjoy the summer days.
In high season we can find kiosks, hammock rental services and nautical equipment such as pedal boats. In addition, in summer, this beach becomes one of the most frequented in the area thanks to the fact that various shows are organized there.
One of the most special days to enjoy La Carihuela beach is July 16, during the festival of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of the municipality, in which a wide program of recreational activities is held around the procession and embarkation of the Virgin.

Torremolinos is located 7km west of Málaga airport and was the first Costa del Sol resort to be developed back in the early sixties when it was little more than a sleepy village, still today the town reflects its heritage with several of the original fresh fish bars located right in the shopping center, incongruously flanked by exclusive boutiques and gift shops. In general, however, the wave of tourists who descended on the town in the fifties and sixties changed the face of Torremolinos forever.
Over the years, Torremolinos has evolved as an attractive and appealing resort, noted for its clean sandy beaches, a wide choice of hotels and restaurants, and an unparalleled variety of entertainment, activities, and nightlife available. At the height of summer, the resort has a great appeal for the younger set, with a reputation for its hectic nightlife. Out of season, however, it takes on a different character. Now practically a suburb of Málaga, the atmosphere is much more Spanish, especially at weekends, with an air of friendliness and welcome.
Packed with tantalizing shops, thronging with people of every nationality, and located right at the heart of the town is the pedestrian-only Calle San Miguel, the main artery of the town. This smartly paved pedestrianized street is lined with boutiques and shops with a great variety of goods, attracting a constant flow of people. At the end of San Miguel, the Cuesta del Tajo leads down a steep flight of steps through the old fishing district of El Bajondillo. This is a popular, picturesque area lined with restaurants and market-style kiosks, selling souvenirs. Down at the bottom is the beach of El Bajondillo.
The beach area shows another side of Torremolinos. With massive hotels, apartment blocks, bars, and restaurants, this area is packed during the summer. To the left, the Playa de Bajondillo gives way to the beaches of Playamar and Los Alamos. To the right, beyond the Castillo de Santa Clara, lie the beach areas of La Carihuela and Montemar.

Torremolinos is a municipality in the province of Malaga that in recent years has become one of the preferred locations on the Costa del Sol. Apart from enjoying the sea and the sand, travelers have the opportunity to visit the fishing district of “La Carihuela” and taste its local cuisine, which includes fried fish, the most famous dish in the region, in hundreds of restaurants and bars.

Torremolinos is located 7km west of Málaga airport and was the first Costa del Sol resort to be developed back in the early sixties when it was little more than a sleepy village, still today the town reflects its heritage with several of the original fresh fish bars located right in the shopping center, incongruously flanked by exclusive boutiques and gift shops. In general, however, the wave of tourists who descended on the town in the fifties and sixties changed the face of Torremolinos forever.
Over the years, Torremolinos has evolved as an attractive and appealing resort, noted for its clean sandy beaches, a wide choice of hotels and restaurants, and an unparalleled variety of entertainment, activities, and nightlife available. At the height of summer, the resort has a great appeal for the younger set, with a reputation for its hectic nightlife. Out of season, however, it takes on a different character. Now practically a suburb of Málaga, the atmosphere is much more Spanish, especially at weekends, with an air of friendliness and welcome.
Packed with tantalizing shops, thronging with people of every nationality, and located right at the heart of the town is the pedestrian-only Calle San Miguel, the main artery of the town. This smartly paved pedestrianized street is lined with boutiques and shops with a great variety of goods, attracting a constant flow of people. At the end of San Miguel, the Cuesta del Tajo leads down a steep flight of steps through the old fishing district of El Bajondillo. This is a popular, picturesque area lined with restaurants and market-style kiosks, selling souvenirs. Down at the bottom is the beach of El Bajondillo.
The beach area shows another side of Torremolinos. With massive hotels, apartment blocks, bars, and restaurants, this area is packed during the summer. To the left, the Playa de Bajondillo gives way to the beaches of Playamar and Los Alamos. To the right, beyond the Castillo de Santa Clara, lie the beach areas of La Carihuela and Montemar.
