Málaga is a municipality, capital of the Province of Málaga, in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, Spain. With a population of 571,026 in 2018, it is the second-most populous city of Andalusia and the sixth-largest in Spain. It lies on the Costa del Sol (Coast of the Sun) of the Mediterranean, about 100 kilometres (62.14 miles) east of the Strait of Gibraltar and about 130 km (80.78 mi) north of Africa.

Málaga’s history spans about 2,800 years, making it one of the oldest cities in Europe and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Málaga was founded about 770 BC by the Phoenicians as Malaka. From the 6th century BC the city was under the hegemony of Ancient Carthage, and from 218 BC, it was ruled by the Roman Republic and then empire as Malaca (Latin). After the fall of the empire and the end of Visigothic rule, it was under Islamic rule as Mālaqah (Arabic: مالقة) for 800 years, but in 1487, the Crown of Castille gained control after the Reconquista. The archaeological remains and monuments from the Phoenician, Roman, Arabic and Christian eras make the historic center of the city an “open museum”, displaying its history of nearly 3,000 years. o is showing Malaga walking tour city centre main street shops, market Costa del Sol Spain.

We made a bus trip from Fuengirola to Torremolinos (14 Km distance, in Costa del Sol, the southern coast of Spain).
We got off the bus in the Torremolinos center station and then we walked through: Plaza de la Nogalera, Calle San Miguel, Calle Santos Arcangeles and Plaza San Miguel. From here, we would descend on some tortuous streets with stairs (you will see this in the next video).

A first-person perspective Málaga walk tour of the Málaga City Centre main shopping streets.

See all the sights as Watched Walker (yes, I’m talking about myself in the third person) takes us on a walking tour through the streets of Málaga, featuring the major shopping streets of Málaga City Centre. The tour begins on the canopied, pedestrianised shopping street Calle Marqués de Larios, next travels north to the Plaza de la Constitución (Constitution Square), then along Calle Granada where the tour concludes.

Sights seen along the tour include ‘Points of View’ sculpture by Tony Cragg, Málaga Cathedral, Sebastiâo Salgado’s ‘Génesis’ photography exhibition, Fuente de Génova (Fountain of Genoa), and the ‘Panta Rei’ (Everything Flows) sculpture by Blanca Munoz.

And in each video I’ve hidden a blinking eye, can you spot it? (It could appear more than once). In addition to the blinking eye, I’ve also added the Watched Walker logo to various scenes–it could be on buildings, vehicles or any other objects, so keep an eye out for it too!
