La Carihuela Torremolinos Spain Chill Afternoon April 2024 Update | Málaga [4K]

An old fishing district located to the southwest of Torremolinos municipal area, La Carihuela has become one of the most visited summer destinations in Costa del Sol.

Its inhabitants relied on the fruits of the sea until the explosion of the tourist boom in the 50s, during that time the development of restaurant businesses began which is mainly based on fish and the famous fried fish or “pescaíto frito.”

The neighborhood of La Carihuela was then made up of a row of small houses and shacks on the floor. During the early 1950s the construction and rise of hotels on the orchards of the area began, which followed by the promotions of apartments and building of new homes. These hotels include Hotel Pez Espada (1957), Hotel Carihuela Palace (1960), Hotel Tropicana (1961), Hotel Tres Carabelas (1962), Hotel Montemar, and Hotel Miami.

The La Carihuela promenade is considered as one of the places of interest in the neighborhood, along with the Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen. Both easily accessible to everyone.

Defined by its summer beach scene, La Carihuela draws locals and tourists for its weather along with the spectacular sea views, hutlike chiringuitos that serve local cuisines, and different water sports activities. Kiosks, rental services of sunbeds and water equiment such as pedal boats are available for every holidaymakers.

Benalmádena is a town located between Fuengirola and Torremolinos, with lots of great beaches and a wide variety of services and accommodation for the tourists. Benalmádena Costa is home to the majority of the area’s attractions most importantly the golden sandy beaches. Many restaurants and bars serving food from all over the world are present in the area. Chiringuitos or local seafood restaurants on the beach are famous in the area. The friendly, relaxed and chill atmosphere all year makes it one of the most beloved destinations for families.

Benalmádena indeed has everything like top-quality beaches, the modern and outstanding Puerto Marina, a Casino located in Torrequebrada, several golf courses, amusement parks such as Tivoli World and Holiday World Beach Club, and plenty of attractions like Sea Life, Parque de la Paloma, and Butterfly Garden making sure that all visitors have an unforgettable experience during their stay.

At the Benalmádena beach you can visit the Castle Bil-Bil, an Arabic style building, which is adorned with fountains and is decorated according to Nazari tradition. Another building of great interest in Benalmádena is the Castle of Colomares, dedicated to the discovery of America. This construction creates a grand visual impact by combining all architectural styles.

Fuengirola is a beautiful town and municipality on the Costa del Sol in the province of Málaga, in the autonomous community of Andalucía in southern Spain. It is located on the central coast of the province and integrated into the region of the Costa del Sol and the Commonwealth of Municipalities of the Costa del Sol Occidental.

It is a major tourist resort with more the 8 kilometers (5 miles) of beaches and a medieval Moorish fortress. The area has subtropical Mediterranean climate with temperatures reaching from 18ºC to over 30ºC during the summer.

Fuengirola has a number of historical sites and open parks, and as well as the old port that is still used by the local fishermen. At the seafront, many high-rise blocks of flats can be found, and many narrow streets are filled with low-rise villas.

Fuengirola Spain Chill Town and Beach Update October 2022 Costa del Sol | Málaga [4K]

Fuengirola is a city and a municipality in the province of Málaga, in Andalucía, Spain. Located 33 kilometers southwest of the city of Málaga, the municipality of Fuengirola limits to the north with the municipalities of Benalmádena and Mijas, the latter term with which it also borders to the west and south. In addition, it is bathed by the Mediterranean Sea to the east.

Founded by the Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantines, Visigoths and Muslim, among other people, passed through Fuengirola until their final incorporation to the Crown of Castile in 1485. Its development was hindered by the intense Berber piracy that the area has suffered for centuries.

Fuengirola became a municipality after separating from Mijas in 1841 while still being a small fishing village. At the moment, Fuengirola is considered as an important tourist center with an estimate of around 250,000 inhabitants during the summer season.

We visit Benalmadena Spain for a walk from the beach to the Marina to see what there is to do and see here in this Spanish holiday town on the Costa Del Sol, and have to say we are impressed!

It’s a quiet day when we visit Benalmadena for this walking tour, so many of the restaurants and bars along the seafront and in the town weren’t fully open yet but I thought I’d show you them so you know what is there and what restaurants there are in Benalmadena.

Los Boliches Fuengirola Spain Chill Town Update 20 May 2022 Costa del Sol | Málaga [4K]

Los Boliches is a beautiful fishing town that is part of Fuengirola. It has 7km of wonderful sandy beaches and located just 17km from the airport of Málaga.

Now that the summer is approaching with longer daytime, you can spend the day on the beach and hire a sunbed. The beach is also family-friendly and there is something for everyone.

Don’t forget to try some typical fried or salt baked fish dishes at a seafront “chiringuito” restaurant or the traditional grilled sardines, cooked on an open fire on the beach.

Los Boliches has plenty of winding streets filled with shops, bars and restaurants, catering for every taste.

The weather in Los Boliches is wonderful and the average temperature is 18ºC-26ºC the hottest being in July and August.

Torremolinos Spain Beach Walk Playa Los Alamos Chill Afternoon May 2022 Costa del Sol | Málaga [4K]

One of the first resorts in Costa del Sol to be developed, Torremolinos indeed is still the most popular in the region. With the beach that extends nearly 8 kilometers (5 miles), Torremolinos offers plenty of services for each and every one, including cycle and skating lanes, plenty of bars and local chiringuitos, live music events and water sports activities.

The beaches of Torremolinos is packed during the summer season. Playa de Bajondillo gives way eastwards to the beach of Playamar and Los Álamos.

The promenade by the sea extends west behing the expansive and popular beaches of Montemar and El Saltillo, and continuing as far as Benalmádena Marina. This area is known for its excellent seafood restaurants and chiringuitos!
