🇪🇦[4K] Torremolinos Malaga Spain Feels Like Summer Beach and Promenade Walk | Costa del Sol

There are six main beaches in Torremolinos (west to east): Montemar, La Carihuela, Bajondillo, Playamar, Los Alamos, El Saltillo. The 7 km long promenade has undergone improvements with additional landscaping and wider pavements. All the beaches are linked by the promenade which forms part of the Malaga Coastal path.

Bajondillo Beach is known for its golden sand and light waves. It has an extensive leisure offering for all ages from beach bars, restaurants, and outdoor sports activities. The beach promenade is excellent for walking.

Flanked by massive hotels, apartment blocks, bars and restaurants, this area is packed during the summer. Playa de Bajondillo gives way eastwards to the beaches of Playamar and Los Alamos.

Torremolinos is a municipality in Andalusia, southern Spain, west of Málaga.

A poor fishing village before the growth in tourism began in the late 1950s, Torremolinos was the first of the Costa del Sol resorts to be developed and is still the most popular in the region.

Areas of the town are dotted with older high-rise residential buildings and hotels, but height limitations on new developments and a significant number of original old town properties have kept the town centre much more open than other popular resorts such as Benidorm and Fuengirola.

Torremolinos Spain Feels Like Summer Town and Beach Update April 2023 Costa del Sol | Málaga [4K]

A product of the tourist boom in the 1960s, Torremolinos began as a small fishing village to a large, densely-populated town dedicated entirely to sun and sand tourism. Torremolinos showcases large beaches with various related facilities and services.

The famous Pimentel Tower is the town’s most significant monnument and serves as an icon, with some traces of the past still visible around the areas of La Carihuela and Bajondillo districts.

The origins and name of the town derive from a watchtower (torre) and the mills (molinos) built there to grind wheat, positioned perpendicularly to the ocean in order to harness the hydraulic power generated by the water flowing into it.

During the second half of the 20th century, Torremolinos has changed significantly with regards to the population’s lifestyle and economic activities when the progressive development of tourism that had begun which created a transformation that turned the town into one of today’s best-known holiday resorts.

Benalmadena costa is one of the three main urban areas in Benalmadena. It has become one of Costa del Sol’s most essential locations, with its golden sandy beaches.

Torremolinos is the perfect blend of a cosmopolitan town and a traditional Andalusian fishing village. With its seven kilometers-long coastline, Torremolinos offers wonderful, seafront promenades.

Only 25km from Malaga International Airport is the town of Fuengirola – one of the most popular destinations on the Costa Del Sol. Easily accessible by road, rail or bus, it is town on the Meditterranean is the number one choice for so many. Feungirola is one of the Costa Del Sol’s most popular resorts it is located between Marbella and Benalmadena, this seaside town has an excellent selection of hotels for all your holiday needs from five-star deluxe resorts to more low key family- run establishments. The beachfront extends for five miles from Moorish Sohail Castle, northwards along the coast towards Torreblanca.
