The best things to do after dinner in Torremolinos include public squares, live shows, and late-night clubs that can be found throughout this popular beach town in the Costa del Sol. Torremolinos was the first city in Spain to launch a tourist economy in the 1950s when it was transformed from a sleepy fishing village into a resort town. It’s now an epicentre of activity in the coastal region.

Torremolinos has long enjoyed a reputation as one of the liveliest resort towns on the Costa del Sol. Known for its glamourous nightlife and care-free attitude this town offers more diverse options to enjoy the evening than any other Costa del Sol resort. It’s actually during the summer season where a higher number of people gather here to go out partying.

Amongst the options to enjoy the nightlife in Torremolinos, one can go out for a meal or some tapas and then to a few pubs, discos and beach clubs along the Costa del Sol. Many years ago the lively area was Pueblo Blanco, located right in the center of Torremolinos, but now it has moved down to the seafront and in the center where all the pubs and discos aimed to the gay community are located, such as the Nogalera area.

When it comes to British pubs, one can visit the Plaza de la Independencia, and the Spanish pubs are located at the Plaza de Costa del Sol.

There are plenty of gay pubs and discos in Torremolinos, but not only for the gay community, but also today more and more people choose to go to these discos as the atmosphere is more relaxed.

With modern shops, restaurants and bars bordering one side of the central orange tree-lined promenade and exclusive yachts flanking the other, Muelle Uno is not your average shopping complex. The waterfront open-air mall offers a contemporary shopping and dining experience by the sea, with stunning views of La Alcazaba to remind you of the city’s Moorish past.

As the name suggests, the recently redeveloped Muelle Uno area (‘Quay One’ in English) is located in Malaga Port. After 13 years of planning and negotiations, an 80-million-euro budget, and with over 400 new jobs created, Muelle Uno was officially inaugurated at the end of November 2011.

The complex boasts an impressive array of shops, with over 30 outlets selling everything from clothes, shoes and accessories, to cosmetics, handmade jewellery and home furnishings. Offering far from the usual high street shops, Muelle Uno is the place to go if you’re looking for something a little different, such as the modern and original home decorations at Mandragora or the elegant fashions at Etxart & Panno. Many well-known brands are represented, such as Helly Hansen at Nautilus and Lacoste, as well as high street names Deichmann, Kiko and Primo. Additionally, and more practically, the complex has an optician (handy for visiting cruise passengers who need an emergency prescription) and several phone shops.

For those who love markets, the monthly zoco at Muelle Uno, which takes place on the second Sunday of every month, has nearly 100 stalls selling handmade crafts and jewellery, vintage and children’s clothing, home decorations, organic foods and locally-produced olive oil and meats.

The port is in a natural bay, well protected by the shape of coastline; it is situated on the edge of the historic cultural centre and has access to all of the city´s beaches via the Promenade Pablo Ruiz Picasso. It is the second most important port in Spain for cruise passengers, after Barcelona.

Beyond its 16 sunny beaches, this Andalusian city on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea has a fascinating cultural side. The birthplace of Pablo Picasso has reinvented itself in recent years, inaugurating museums for all tastes.

Málaga is a wonderful city in Spain, it is the capital of the Province of Málaga, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is the second-most populous city in Andalusia and the 6th most populous in the country. It lies in Southern Spain on the Costa del Sol of the Mediterranean Sea.
