I still remember my first meal in Spain back in 2006. I was visiting the country, seeking opportunities to work in the Mediterranean.

Malaga is an exciting mix of traditional and modern tapas bars, each offering a unique spin on Spain’s famous small plates.

Unlike Granada, the tapas in Malaga are generally not free; I think it’s because it’s so focused on tourism.

Malaga is a wonderful place, and it’s no secret I’m crazy about trying the nation’s best when it comes to cuisine.

At lunch, you can try Pimpi, Malaga’s most famous restaurant.

It has welcomed many generations of artists, flamenco dancers or politicians. And it’s furnished in the style of Malaga and offers local wines and delicious gastronomy, which are very popular in the city.

The restaurant’s soul is the lounge with the vintage wine barrels, signed by people, such as the Picasso family and famous bullfighters.

Antonio Banderas has a share in the restaurant and an apartment in Malaga.

Pimpi is in the old town of Malaga, next to the Museum Picasso, La Alcazaba and the Roman Theatre.

I happen to be a massive fan of Ensaladilla Rusa, a mix of potato, fresh prawns, carrot, eggs, tuna, mayonnaise. And the “Croquetas de Pollo “chicken croquettes, miniature bit size fried savoury patties are delicious – the perfect hot, delectable treat.

The interior of the Croquetas is filled with chicken, the texture is creamy, and each one is individually coated with crisp breadcrumb.

Malaga is known for its sweet wines, mostly made from Moscatel grapes, and even if you aren’t usually a fan of sweet alcohol, give them a try, as some have a cutting acidity that leaves you wanting another sip.

Pimpi’s flavours are charged with freshness, taste and quality, which you will not be able to savour anywhere else.

I do what I do because I enjoy the good life.

I enjoy feeding my brain with knowledge, and I hope somehow, I can inspire you to go and do what makes you happy.

Thank you for watching
