La Cala de Mijas is located in the coastal area of ​​the municipality of Mijas, except for some rocky areas between the limits of Fuengirola, to the east, and Marbella, to the west. La Cala de Mijas is a small population center of less than a kilometer in length. This place delivers a mix of expat-haven, authentic Spain, affordability and affluence.

The town is mainly dedicated to sun and beach and residential tourism. It also offers some municipal services such as health centers, schools, cultural centers and library. There are plenty of good restaurants, shops and beach-front bars as well in the area.

La Cala de Mijas enjoys a sub-tropical Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and warm winters. Cooling breezes from the sea make the summer here manageable, with temperature average of 32 degrees during the summer.
