La Carihuela is an old Spanish fishing village in Torremolinos where you find fantastic fish restaurants, many bars and souvenir shops dotted with quaint old fishermans houses, there is lots to see eat and drink, and bustling with people from morning until late into the night.

Torremolinos was the first of the Costa del Sol resorts to be developed and is still the most popular in the region. The beach which extends for nearly 8km (5.0 miles), includes cycle and skating lanes alongside the fully illuminated promenade and features many beach bars and local chiringuitos. The eastern part of the beach, known as Los Álamos, offers live dance music events throughout the summer. They also have windsurfing and kitesurfing among many water sports activities to offer.
Playa Los Álamos is backed by the Golf Course that belongs to the Parador Málaga Golf Hotel and is right under the airport flight path. Located there is the nudist beach, and frequented by mixed bathers.
Kitesurfing is restricted to the easternmost area of the beach and occurs in the low season as in high season all the beaches are very crowded with sunbathers. Yellow buoys are present, marking the limits to which powered craft may come near the beach and the airport located nearby.
At the seaside, there are the usual rentals available of bicycles, mopeds, electric scooters, jets skis, surf boards, parasailing, sailing, paddle, ski boats and snorkelling.

Lying just 25km to the south west of Malaga airport, the long established resort of Fuengirola is half way between Malaga city and Marbella. Together with Torremolinos and Benalmadena Costa it one of the the three mega-resorts which occupy this stretch of the Spanish coastline. Fuengirola is a crowded beach town decorated with utilitarian apartment buildings, but, despite half a century of rampant development, it retains a few redeeming qualities.
