Welcome to Malaga, a vibrant coastal city nestled on Spain’s stunning Costa del Sol. With its rich history, vibrant culture, and Mediterranean charm, Malaga offers a captivating blend of old-world elegance and modern delights.
As you explore the city, you’ll be greeted by a captivating mix of architectural wonders. Marvel at the imposing Alcazaba, a Moorish fortress that dates back to the 11th century, and its neighboring Roman Theatre, a testament to the city’s ancient past. Discover the stunning Malaga Cathedral, known as “La Manquita” (the one-armed lady) due to its unfinished south tower, and admire its intricate Renaissance and Baroque design.
Wander through the narrow streets of the historic center, known as the Casco Antiguo, where you’ll find charming plazas, bustling markets, and delightful tapas bars. Immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of Plaza de la Merced, the birthplace of renowned artist Pablo Picasso. Explore the Picasso Museum, housed in a beautiful 16th-century palace, and discover the fascinating works that chronicle the artist’s life and artistic evolution.
Malaga is also blessed with picturesque beaches that line its coastline. Enjoy the golden sands and azure waters of Malagueta Beach, where you can relax under the warm Mediterranean sun or take a refreshing dip in the sea. Alternatively, venture further along the coast to discover hidden coves and quieter stretches of shoreline, where you can escape the crowds and embrace a tranquil beach experience.
Indulge in the culinary delights of Malaga by sampling traditional Andalusian cuisine. Savor fresh seafood, such as the famous Malaga fried fish or succulent grilled sardines, paired with a glass of local Malaga wine. Explore the lively food markets, such as Mercado Central de Atarazanas, where you can discover an array of fresh produce, regional specialties, and delightful tapas.
Malaga’s cultural scene is thriving, with a variety of museums and galleries to explore. Visit the Contemporary Art Center (CAC) to experience thought-provoking exhibitions, or venture to the Centre Pompidou Malaga, a vibrant space showcasing contemporary art from the renowned Parisian museum. Discover the innovative Muelle Uno, a modern waterfront development with trendy shops, restaurants, and stunning views of the harbor.
As the sun sets, Malaga comes alive with a vibrant nightlife scene. Explore the lively bars and clubs in the city center, where you can dance the night away to a mix of international and Spanish music, or simply unwind with a cocktail and soak in the energetic atmosphere.

Wonderfully informative video. Spending a week in Malaga in early March 2023. I feel much better prepared (and reassured of my choice to visit!). I've visited Portugal (5 weeks) and Spain (9 days) since things have opened up again following the worst of the pandemic. Still so much of Iberia to see and enjoy. I'm so glad I found your series. Please keep up the fantastic work and Muchas Gracias!
Beautifully made and informative guide video.Congratulations!!! I am visiting Malaga second time this year. Incredible city🥰
really thanks and was so interesting, it was so useful
I would recommend the Plaza de la Merced. Not much to see here, but it is lined with tapas bars and is a peaceful respite from the narrow, crowded streets of the old town.
Definatly the best guide on youtube.
Very useful
At El Tintero when the waiters walk around with plates can I call them over and have a look before deciding? I might not know what they are shouting. It's definitely a must-go to place. Looks delicious. As well, I plan to stay in Malaga for at least 13-14 days, but taking day trips to Ronda, Marbella, Cordoba and Granada. I plan to go to Cordoba and Granada for two days each but returning to Malaga each evening. I'm sure you can take the train in the morning and spend all day there and then return, and then return the next day to the same city. Can you confirm that? Can I?
