Torre del Mar sits between the Mediterranean Sea and the Sierra Nevada mountains, making for spectacular views. Compared to much of the Costa del Sol, it has managed to retain a great deal of its authentic Spanish atmosphere, despite an increase in tourism. A long promenade along the water has clubs, excellent seafood restaurants, cafes and more, and the wide sandy beach is superb. The town is connected by tram to Velez-Malaga, which is worth visiting for its historic beauty and charm.

  19. Torre Del Mar is never the busiest place for November to March most of those Chiringuitos normally close down in winter months. It´s really hard to fathom what is really going on

  20. I did the same walk 2 days ago and more birds than people, it was deserted at 12.00 noon.
