  2. My wife and I are retiring in two years. We live in the USA, we are both Irish citizens with passports. I would like advice on taxes for retire,s. We will be looking into buying a home, what advice can you give us. Thank you

  4. People moving to Spain should bear in mind their future and getting older, before they decide on settling anywhere. Facilities in your later years become more important like access to medical care, day to day needs like banking or supermarket😎

  5. SOON there will a 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿and 🇸🇪flags all around coastline of Spain

  6. I loved the immense amount about this area of Spain! We haven't spent much time there outside of Malaga City, and while it's probably not our top choice of location in looking at moving to Spain, the insight was incredible. If you are interested in moving to Spain, definitely sign up for the Move to Spain Masterclass James offers. It's invaluable!

  7. Exactly the strategy my wife and I employed in April 2025. It was wonderful. We set up in Nerja for several days and then Estepona for several. Yes – rent a car, explore and enjoy. Rinse and repeat.

  8. I have a question not related to this video……my daughter is moving to Spain for a job. She will be teaching English in Madrid for a year, she is looking for a place to rent. I recall you and your wife did a beautiful video explaining each suburb of Madrid. I was going to send her that video but could not find it. Can you kindly send me the link so that I can forward it to my daughter? Thanks in advance for your help! Ciao.

  9. Yes, you will very probably need a car but don’t expect there to be any parking space for it! 😁

  10. We spent 10 days in Nerja and Frigiliana. I felt so at home. The people were great and tolerated my attempts at Spanish. We will probably rent short term instead of buying in Frigiliana.

  11. Velez Malaga felt rundown. Rincon de victoria had good local vibes. Villages on east side had good vibes and felt very empty.

  12. If you are buying a house think about the costa blanca, houses are less than half the price compared to costa del sol, costa del sol is VERY overcrowded in summer

  13. I was about to move to Spain next year but lately the social&political climate in Costa del Sol changed for worse: mafia shootings, robberies, growing aversion to foreigners, prices of real estate skyrocketed, too hot weather in summer. I think I will stay in my country and travel to Spain just as a tourist.

  14. I've been following you for a few years now, and I appreciate you taking the time to provide detailed information about moving to Spain. I was in Andalusia almost two years ago and loved it, but I'd like to live near Torrevieja or Alicante. I think the summer is less intense there, but I'll have to explore those parts. I also really liked France and southern Italy. But my heart sends me to Spain. My grandparents were Spanish. I was recently widowed, and I'm 69 years old. I live in the Pacific Northwest of the USA, and my entire family is here. So, deciding to leave my family isn't easy. I'd like to live there for a year and explore the locations. I think my SSA and pension are adequate to live comfortably in Spain. Thanks again.

  15. Your video offers excellent information. We moved to Calahonda in February, and live on top of a mountain with a jaw dropping view over the sea, and a huge wild area behind our building. I don’t have a car, and didn’t really want to get one, but the reality is that the bus service is very limited and spotty. So, I will need to buy one.
We lived in Benalmádena for a few months and really enjoyed it but decided that it’s just a little too busy and touristy. We also spent a month in Torremolinos and didn’t like it much. Malaga is a great city but has become quite expensive. I was surprised by how much I liked Fuengirola. It’s not “charming” but it feels like an authentic mid-small Spanish city, with a genuine workaday vibe, and a lovely beach area. Nerja and Estepona are both really nice but I could see getting bored in both places.
For now, we are quite happy where we are although it probably won’t be our forever home. We’re actually very interested in moving north in a few years.

  16. Great video ! We are in Benalmadena, Arroyo de La Miel.
