It's quite depressing and unfortunate that this virus has killed more than just lives. It has also taken away people's livelihoods, savings, and hopes of a better life. When all is said and done, the damage inflicted will be difficult to quantify. I don't want to seem fatalistic, but let's hope there isn't a second wave of this virus as it happened with the1918 Spanish flu.! Woah.!
Was gonna book a flight to Costa Azahar in August to try a grab a cheeky break before the schools return in the UK. Doesn't sound like you'd think it would happen?

My temporary sipcard has expired and I can’t get it renewed as my padron is over three months old,. I do have residencia but the lockdown has delayed its receipt. Surely the sipcard should be accepted at pharmacies, but it isn’t. I live in the Alicante region.
I'm sure this lady was on one of those "brits abroad" or one of those programmes. or maybe it was someone similar

Great interview. Quite a different outlook from Fuerteventura, we are so lucky to have so few cases here, 80% of the population are in the tourism industry and know it will be difficult for the some time to come.Can't fault the Spanish government for their decisive action and support.

I visit the Costa Del Sol every June/July. Doubt very much I will be able to this year, which is sad, but my heart goes out to all those bar/cafe/apartment owners: their businesses are going to be worthless. Who can survive even six months without any income at all? And a lot of the bars were struggling even before this. Lots up for sale already apparently – but who's going to buy them, even when this is over? Still, at least in Spain you don't have to listen to the BBC absolving china from blame and painting them as the good guys who handled the crisis – they caused – better than we are!
