As an airline pilot myself I travel a lot and the best sunsets i have seen are in Málaga, Ibiza and los angeles.
The best best sunsets in Málaga are during the months of december and january.I LOVE sunsets and i pictured them quite often from cockpit and from the ground when i'm not flying.

The mountains provide Malaga with its comfortable climate. The mountains protect the city during the winter, and the sea keeps the city cooler in the Summer.
Re bike rides – from Malaga you can ride along the coast in both directions for miles.
Land was reclaimed from the sea in Malaga. The cathedral and museum (which used to be the customs house) were all located close to the sea. It was nothing to do with global warning. Also, the park near to the centro historico was the botanical gardens initially. The botanical gardens are now located in the outskirts of Malaga, and are well worth a visit.
