I took a 15 year old Toyota Rav4 on a 1600 mile journey from Manchester to Malaga.

Glad you watch scotty Kilmer too. He make me think only Toyota and lexus is reliable lol
Enjoyed the video. Looks like Scotty was right about Toyota reliability.
..i never got searched in spain either !! 😈
Must be a good brother
Cheers
Can't beat a Toyota. Best cars on the road.. But I'm biased 👍😊
San Sebastián is stunning and a great place to eat pinchos.
You should do another trip like this but record more
I really enjoy road trip/ car reviews, you made that review enjoyable
Love the road trip, amazing car
That Rav 4 will be running long after those supercars are scrapped or having full rebuilds. The Toyota is also a real car as opposed to a hairdressers car. You can use it, do things with it, drive it in all weather etc, unlike supercars that are just bought for posing.
when I drive yearly to swiss from near London I avoid France and only use France then Belguim, Luxemburg, Germany and then swiss, it makes more sense for this route as I dont have to pay the toll charges and can enjoy the Autobahn and as I speak German I feel more secure travelling most of the part trough Germany
Why have a timex if you've got explorer 2 money?
I bought my 2003 Rav4, 2 liter petrol in April 2015 as my first car, just after passing driving licence test.
One month later I took similar trip from London to Alicante, along west coast of France, Bordeaux, up high into Pyrenees mountains in Andora, then along south coast of Spain. Return trip to Bilbao where I took ferry to Portsmouth. 1800 miles all together in various weather conditions and no problem with the car at all.
Since then I took many trips across whole Europe and the car never let me down.
I went with it to Swiss Alps in winter to attend ski jumping contest in Engelberg, then through Austria and Czech Republic to Poland and back through Germany. 3000 miles of snowy mountain roads in 2 weeks.
I went with it in winter to Pyrenees for a skiing trip, drove in heavy snow conditions up high to a ski resort at over 2100m above sea level on Pirelli Skorpion Verde all season tires and the car never went sideways or lost grip. My mate's car broke down in Spain so we had to take return trip with just one car – my Rav4. Four adults and luggage stacked up to the roof in the back. The car handled 700 miles trip on French motorways without a problem in a torrential rain.
Another trip last June, I went to Krakow, Poland then south via Slovakia and Austria to Venice, then across country to the west coast of Italy where I took ferry to Sardigna, spent 5 days on the beach and return to UK via Italy and France in summer. 4000 miles all together.
The only issue with petrol engine is consumption at around 29mpg, other than that the car always starts at first time, no matter if temperature outside is -15 or +40.
Now my Rav4 is almost 18 years old with 140.000 miles on the clock. All the repairs in last 4 years were replacing parts which wear off: clutch, break pads and discs, tires. The exhaust had to be replaced as well as it rusted and rubber coolant hoses have bursted at some point and had to be replaced.
I will have to sell it soon and get a newer car, I will definitely miss it.

Seriously. I love your videos.
Nice cheers mate.
I meet this guy in the south of Spain, he was staring in, a Spanish Butlins.
He was singing I'm no stranger to cars, you know the rules and so do I.
We were glad to see him drive back to Yorkshire
i love my mk3 rav, Had the mk1 and mk2, TOTALLY RELIABLE. CAR, and mk3 rav looks nice. Love my RAV4
Hey
New to your channel and just subscribed.
How much was the car and what was the mileage. Can we have an update on the car now? Still got it or sold it? Any issues since your road trip? Thanks
Have spent the darkest days of winter in Spain since I retired 5 years ago its just superb. Through about taking the car but 4 days I'm to old now. However why are Toyota's so reliable you never see on on a rescue truck? Great video as well.
