Join me for a relaxing walk along the La Carihuela promenade in Torremolinos, one of the most popular stretches of seafront on the Costa del Sol. Known for its traditional charm, sandy beaches, and famous seafood restaurants, La Carihuela offers a slightly more laid-back feel while still being close to the lively areas nearby.
July is a great time to visit the Costa del Sol, with daytime temperatures typically around 28 to 36 degrees, plenty of sunshine, and a relaxed atmosphere as the resorts begin to come to life ahead of the summer season, while still being far less crowded than the peak months.

The promenade is flat, well-maintained, and easy to follow, linking La Carihuela with neighbouring areas like Bajondillo and on towards Benalmádena Marina. Whether you’re planning a holiday or just want to see what the area looks like, this walk gives you a real feel for one of Torremolinos’ most loved coastal areas.

The Mediterranean resort town of Torremolinos in southern Spain’s Costa del Sol region is a sunseeker’s haven. In the 1950s, this former fishing village became one of the most popular destinations for sun-loving tourists. Stretches of dark, sandy beaches offer a multitude of watersports and beach activities, while the many bars, restaurants and local sights occupy holidaymakers.

Boasting an enviable mix of green spaces, cultural sights and coastal views, Torremolinos is an ideal destination for your next summer holiday. More than just warm Mediterranean coastline, the resort region has a rich blend of family activities as well as a beating nightlife for young travellers.

Torremolinos, just south of the central city of Malaga, has many amazing seafood restaurants and hotels along the waterfront La Carihuela village. The pedestrian-only Calle San Miguel is a bustling shopping district that leads directly to Playa Bajondillo.

Discover the bustling centre of Torremolinos Old Town that stretches from the seafront promenade. Starting along the section known as Paseo Maritimo del Bajondillo, make your way in toward the oldest section of the town to stroll along the pedestrianised Calle San Miguel. It’s lined with restaurants and bars, as well as shops ranging from jewellers and fashion boutiques to souvenir stores and delicatessens.

As you meander the streets, you’ll also cross paths with Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, an 18th-century Andalusian neoclassical-style church in a small square at the end of Calle San Miguel. Another historical point of interest is the only remaining trace of Torre de Pimentel (Tower of the Mills), which dates back to the 1300s.
