Málaga Christmas Lights are one of the highlights of the festive period specially those in Calle Larios and are world famous for the spectacular light and sound show. They are officially switched on last Friday, 26th of November.

Once again, with the winter “Christmas Forest” as the design, Calle Larios stuns us with the light show that includes 342 aluminium and glass leaves illuminated by special LED lighting, more than 100 aluminium suns ranging from 1 to 4 meters in diameter with lighting on both sides and the impressive structure also feature angels. The above housed in a structure composed of 22 12.8-meter-high aluminium arches and 1000 12-meter-long LED strips of light. During the day, the aluminium used is designed to reflect the sunlight and create a unique daytime light show.

The recently renovated Málaga Alameda, the main avenue, has a new Christmas look too! With elegant lighting and beautiful decorations made up of more the 500 strings of hanging led lights designed to reflect the sunlight so that they can be enjoyed during the daytime as well!

Calle San Juan is also one of the stars of this year’s Christmas celebrations. It has two different settings: the “Enchanted Garden” and “Salón de Arañas” (Spider’s Salon). The street is filled with colorful hanging structures resembling fruit, the warmth of candle-fueled bulbs, barroque-style lamps and more than 200 Edison globe bulbs are just some of the stunning features that can be found on Calle San Juan.

Many visitors come from Europe not only to see the Christmas lights in Málaga, but also to see, feel, and enjoy the festive atmosphere unique in the city.

Locals and tourists also enjoy the Chirstmas in Málaga by visiting any of the many Christmas Markets in the city. Most of these markets can by found in the Paseo del Parque, but there are many others in each municipality. In these places, everyone can take advantage of their Christmas shopping from handicrafts, novelty items, sweets, delicatessen snacks and so much more!
