  1. Many of these idiots voted for Brexit, 2021 saw over 1 million immigrants legally allowed residency in the UK, highest numbers ever. This doesn't include the illegals etc .. what was the point of it all

  2. I'm planning my escape from the UK to Spain, leaving the sinking ship as they say. The only good thing that's going to come from Brexit will be the inevitably break up of the UK union.

  3. Thanks to Brexit us Brits have & will continue to loose out on a hell of a lot more than a very small minority of the population (Rees-Mogg) is going to gain from it.

  4. Very many Brits retired to Spain, some did all the necessary paper work, very many didn't…they choose to live ''under the radar''' so's to speak. These are the ones caught in the trap of legality….If you are a resident, have a Spanish driving licence and car there is no problem…. Like me many residents could not vote in the 2016 referendum because of the 15 year rule. Our voting rights as British Citizens were revoked…. Democracy at work!!…. .We were in danger of losing our reciprocal health service …SIP card….and stuck with health insurance many could never afford, assuming one could have it in the first place..this applies to the retired. This never actually came to pass. mainly because of EU intervention. We could not vote but are still at the mercy of UK legislation if Johnson and his Cabal have their way by their insane EU policies…Many retired Brits return to UK to die!,. some for family reasons…It used be, as many returned as started a new live in España. I guess because of Brexit it has hastened the percentage of returning Brits. What really 'stuck in my craw' was many brits returning to UK to vote for Brexit …and shoot themselves in the foot..Their tiresome ''we're British expats' mindset ruling their decision, they knew what they were voting for…. know they have all the time in the world to reflect ……

  5. I spoke to a young Spaniard who lived in Benidorm and he emphasised the number of Brits who are simply disrespectful and arrogant. We no longer rule the world and we are not exempt from other people's laws. Think of the attitude we have to immigrants in UK who break OUR laws. If you want to go and live in Spain you will be welcome, but be legal and make some attempt to learn the language. We left the EU on a referendum so live with it, the downs as well as the ups. Spain will be the better for the absence of most of these people.

  6. I live in portugal the police target the British to make money

  7. most of the 5.5 million nationals who'd moved to the UK, have stayed. Mind you, most came to work and raise families. The Brits in Spain mostly clubbed together and were waitng to get inferm then move back to UK for NHS treatment.

  8. Why governments make laws that citizens don't approve as they make lives very complicated? This is nuts

  9. This has shown what a bunch of whiners the British are.

  10. Respect the Law of the Country that you've chosen to retire/live in. Quite simple.

  11. Good. It may be a lot nicer with them gone.
The older ones, I presume, are the snobbish ones who put themselves up as superior to Spaniards when I was there (years ago).
How many were all for Brexit?

  12. Think of how the bleeding hearts cry over foreign nationals here in UK when they have to be deported because they have not got the correct paperwork sorted. You'd never hear the end of it. Do the Spanish cry over the loss of the British in the same way?

  13. Good the Spanish want to be enemies wave them goodbye see how they go without us going on holidays or buying property

  14. Most British citizens are more concerned about keeping the home they have in the UK, powering it and feeding their kids, than the few thousand in Spain who have enough disposable income to have two homes or have decided they want to live in Spain but don't want becoming citizens .
As has been pointed out loads think they are on permanent holiday.

  15. Most of these Brits are the first generation that are now old and decrepit and need looking after etc etc same in France. In the UK no one gives a rats arse !

  16. If you didn't understand you had to pay duty on the laptop shows you don't fully how 3rd country rule work. Most of the part in a laptop is made in other 3rd country hence duty. That is why the British car industry wil have problem to export and will only make cars for domestic market…

  17. Hi John – you are missing a very important fact, and you don’t really understand the circumstances that many of the oldies find themselves in. They can’t deal with all the challenges needed to get Spanish residency so they just give up. In the UK 8 million people are illiterate unable to read or write, they live outside the system, many of them are quite rich and rely on others to do it for them. The numbers in Europe in many cases are no better, the number in America is quite shocking. So all these rules and regulations are a complete nightmare for so many.
The common excuse is “will you please do this for me I have forgotten my glasses”. or I have arthritis, I can’t write. When dealing with the public you have to be very careful not to embarrass them. It’s so sad.

  18. The Big problem is most of these people voted for Brexit to keep for foreigners out never realised they were themselves foreigners. Yet another Brexit benefit

  19. What's the difference between an expat and an immigrant? (I hear you ask)
Simple. One goes to a restaurant to spend money; the other to wash dishes.

  20. I'm Portuguese and have witnessed a lot of older Brits moving here. Mostly because of the 10-year tax-free incentive. I just hope they don't turn our quiet Portuguese towns into a Costa-Del-Sol or Benidorm….
