Why do English people say paieia. There is no I sound in paella and English people pronounce two. It’s Pa e lla. Three vowel sounds, a e and a and I hear five and only o e consonant sounds when that ll there is a consonant not a vowel. It sounds horrible. Paieia.
Here and in the rest of old Spain what you see is the remnants of one of the greatest empires in the history of Mankind. The Spanish and the Portuguese empires, the first 2 global empires. And the center of the two main global legacies of the spanish empire: the spanish language and christianization of half of the world. There are today 21 countries that have Spanish as their official language, and as many countries that were historically catholic, because of Spain. Of course the legacy of Spain encompasses a lot more in all the fields of human development: sciences, engineering, art, literature, music, etc.
