South of the city center, the medieval Moorish Sohail Castle towers over the coastline, and hosts concerts, festivals and a medieval market in summer. Adjacent to the Plaza de Toros bullring is Bioparc Fuengirola, a naturalistic zoo featuring a re-created jungle clearing and animals from Asia and Africa. Lying just 25km to the south west of Malaga airport, the long established resort of Fuengirola is halfway between Malaga city and Marbella.
It is one of the the main resorts on this stretch of the Spanish coastline, alongside Torremolinos and Benalmadena Costa, and the Fuengirola weather is mild and sunny. July is the hottest month in fuengirola with an average temperature of 24°C (75°F) and the coldest is January at 11°C (52°F) with the most daily sunshine hours at 11 in July. The wettest month is November with an average of 115mm of rain. The best month to swim in the sea is in August when the average sea temperature is 24°C.

For some reason, that view of the corner tobacconists and the colourful street beyond at 22:45 is just idyllic! Such a nice walk Living Walks – really liking this one.
It's a small thing, but I love the way you anticipate and then move around the corners – such nice camera work, and it works so beautifully in Fuengirola's little backstreets.
There's some lovely squares and backstreets – looks a nice place for a evening meal after a day on the beach. Thanks LW.
